Spark Plugs
« on: October 19, 2009, 08:06:38 PM »
I installed new spark plug boots and did the cycle x trick with the spark plugs(side gapping)
The bike seems to pull a little better at higher rpms. I plan on taking a longer ride on it tomorrow so I will know more. I'm still not sure if the difference I'm feeling is from replacing my 30+y/o spark plug boots or a combination of both. As for now the machine feels better.

That's the problem with making more than one change at a time.  You have no idea which change made the difference, or if it was a combination of both.

I've got a brand new set of unmodifyed plugs that I could install. I modifyed my older ones just to see if they would read any different.

I say just ride and enjoy it.  There's no way to tell for sure if there was any actual improvement without putting the bike on a dyno anyway.
