That is neat. The cam drive system is different from the later DOHC (and actually looks more reliable). the intermediate gear between the crank and basket is interesting and simple. My father was an engineer for Electric Boat (submarine buliding) for many years and he would tell me about stuff they were doing involving machining, fabrication, welding etc,etc. I would sometimes ask "they can do that stuff???" His reply was always "They can do any friggin thing they want to do" (when it comes to engineering and execution). I believe Honda is the same way.
