Remember the scene in Planet of the Apes where these things appeared on the hill top?  That's what these guys with the "ape hangers" riding toward you look like.  :D

Sheesh, I don't even like my buddys Sportster Nightster that has factory "raised" handlebars...blegh.

Oh and as for that big guy...My FZ750 I used to have was owned by a guy sized like that and when I tore it down, the rear shock was PERMANENTLY COMPRESSED! No joke the spring was literally loose on it. Fork Seals shot, fork springs, also completely and utterly shot.

i think thats how the guy in the rediculous pic is getting away with it... my buddy was a cop and he said something like it was ok because the bike's sissy bars and exaust matched ..... maybe it was also the exaust couldnt go above the handle bars...... i dont really remember but the handle bars the sissy bar and the exaust at the same heigth allowed this guy to be legal

dudes with those way wide, way forward controls look like they're getting an exam from a gynecologist. with the ape hangers it's like you're being stretched on the rack.

I actually saw this bike one day at a gas station here in Illinois. Walked next to it and had to look up to see the hand grips. He was riding with another guy with some pretty ridiculous hanger bars

I have them, but I don't use them, it's easier to look back, make eye contact, and point down at the lane you're going into. and I think safer.
