Thinking about a good set of tires for my 500 Four

Im looking around for a good set of tires for my CB500. The bike is pretty much a stocker, that I'll just be cruising on. Im looking for something that isnt too expensive. I would like a tire that will last me a while too (aka hard compound). One I was considering is: Kenda Challengers. They are pretty cheaply priced and last a long time from what ive heard. But, I would like to get some input on what else is out there. I like the Avon roadriders alot, but they are a little out of my price range. Ive heard of guys with vintage Honda's running Bridgestone BT45's or spitfires, but I really dont know much about them as far as how long they last, etc.

I just put a Dunlop K70 on the front of my 550F and I like it. It works well on rough pavement and if there is light sand or gravel on the road.

I have Dunlop TT100's on both front and rear of mine. They don't have a sporty (wide)  look but they were the duck's guts back in the day. They are also very suited to the 500 as long as you get the right sizes and put them on front and rear. Hondaman has plenty of nice things to say about them.
I can't say anything bad about them at all - they haven't caused me any grief and seem to be wearing very well. They are made of a softer compound than the original tyres but not so soft that they will wear quickly.

They cost me about $260 fitted for both but I am in Australia so you could probably get them cheaper over there. If you're looking for a good quality tyre which will suit your bike and remain period correct - go with these. If you want something a bit newer that has a more sporty look, is a bit cheaper and handles poorly then I am sure there are plenty of options.

You can tell by looking at the pic that they have slight agricultural look about them - they're not as impressive as the Avons  - but I still reckon they are the best choice when you are weighing up value for money  + performance + durability.

Either Dunlop is a good choice. Have 8000 miles on K70s on my 550 and probably good for 5000 more. Around $200 installed with new bands and tubes.
