I searched and didn't find many posts specifically addressing this, so here goes:

I have a 750 K4 with tired side cover badges that I want to repaint. Trying to figure the best approach; looking for advice. Here's what I came up with:
1) soak in acetone to strip (something else?)
2) rattle can the entire thing flat black
3) mask the entire thing and x-acto out the insides of the letters (i.e. the white parts)
4) rattle can insides of letters once the letter mask is cut out
5) remove tape and sand or steel wool (?) the edges of the letters and rectangular surround to get it back to metal (don't know the best way to do this and not scratch up the metal).
This sound like a plan? Is there a better way? Thanks in advance...
And while I'm asking, whats the best way to remove the paint from the edges of the orange "diamonds"? I suspect acetone would be a disaster!
