Isn't most of that bike mystery? It's hard to tell from the pictures how they worked their way around the primary/clutch gearing..

So, the short story is that this mod would have to be worth over $2000-3000 to me to even entertain the idea, yeah? If something like a 750SS dry clutch could be made to work for a total budget of $1k, I'd look at it pretty hard. At the $2k for parts alone plus a bunch of machining etc. pricepoint, it's outside the scope of my project.

i sure hope it's not 2-3K!! otherwise i'll be using the stock clutch...

i can probably work with a max budget of 1k, although i've been mentally preparing myself for 5-600 or so. i bet Rob has quite a few people who would like to buy one, as he knows a bunch on here and the racing circuits! hopefully my lower end guess is the right one!!

I think the plate which is mentioned by René doesn´t belong to the shown CB500.
But it looks and works very similar.
In my opinion the mainshaft is the weaky point. Probable it is a little bit too short.

While racing(?) my 'test-rig', had a wonderful time tho had a minor issue with the clutch, but could solve it on site.
Tho carburation was a bit of, she ran like a beauty without any problems. Clutch can handle this 'power' easy. Next week clutch will be used in stronger engined CR836/CR31 etc.etc. During festival at Dijon France.

Minor adjustments to carbs and clutch.

Once past 4k she really flew. A lot of potential in her.

Thanks Sam, consider that a honour. Once I got grip of that, very tight, corner onto the straight and keeping her around/above 4k she went ballistic. LOL

Hey Mick,

Since Croix is such a short circuit ( real M.Mouse like) I prefer the straight bars and the AMA-style #plate. Have a very slick fairing for faster tracks, but like the sit up and beg (thanks CROZ) style more.

Since re-adjusting the carb's, it runs so much better. Changed the mains to 1.50 and lifted the needles to the mid position. Now she idles at 1200rpm, and still have to synchronize the carb's. Now hoping for the TinTop filter unit and making a baffle for the Yoshi rep and hoping to put some public road miles on her.

Those number plate holes originally for the cooler might actually help air cool the "boys" on a hot day Rob.

Since I am fiddling with the carb's I thought I'd better take a set of K7 carb's apart to have some spares, just in case.
What I found puzzled me a bit. Have to say am no expert on the PG carb's. But when dissambling the carb's I found the needles and jets and jettube in very good condition. But when I opened up the top and removed the slides I felt a weight difference. And the appereance of the slides looks like anodised aluminium. I took apart a F2 carbslide and again the weight difference puzzled me. I took a electric scale and weighed them both. The F2 complete slide, with needle 105.4 gram. Then the K7, same assembly, 45.8 grams.
Anyone can fill in?

Well that's neat to know. This project just keeps getting better. I just came across it yesterday, late for work, stayed up late ( missed hockey playoffs, which I will have to go to church for), got up early and now am up to pg 22 and ready for more.

light = either ally or mazak / zamak type alloy

TG, I only knew the (heavy) chromed brass pieces, did not know Honda did them differently. Seen a lot of carb's but not with these slides.

One type of those 2 different slides uses an adjustable needle jet, the other has a fixed one.
