Hey G,

Still alive and kicking. Made a minor change to the ring that runs in the oilseal and all looking good. Holidays here are, almost, over so back to business.

Cheers mate,

Rob

Sure G, but like I said in the beginning we want it to be nothing less then perfect. Know it is hard to wait but it'll be worth it.
Producing the clutch as is, is not a problem. Parts are made by CNC mill and lathe and the programs are ready, the testing is very time consuming.

Cheers, Rob

Hey Havoc,

Will take that into consideration..........................I quess????? :-\
Time is the problem here. We have build the clutch into a, very fast, CR but we ran into some minor problems with a oilseal. we had to come up with a solution for that, and we did. In the meantime the CR threw it's crankbearings. And my present Japauto replica cannot take the clutch without opening the engine and adapt some parts. Have a slightly tuned F2 engine ready to take the clutch, but it's chassis is not ready yet. Building 2 frontforks for customers now and have a lot of work waiting and that is besides my dayjob. Not complaining, just explaining why things take up so much time.

Cheers, Rob

hehe I was just joshin with you man. I'm in no hurry.

I forsee things like import tax, shipping, insurance, materials tax, and the like for shipment here especially if you are making them overseas.

I could legally "acquire" the licensing from you to manufacture here and send you the profits. All I ask for my self is a complete unit. ... again just joking... slightly....  :P

Just as an option. I have.... had... will have again soon here... a complete machine shop here at my disposal. As well as anything needed to address any newly found issues with operation.

Had a '66 289 Mustang myself, was a childhood dream but due to lack of space had to sell it. Still regret it.
Will get back to you about the clutch in a short while with pic's and all.

At last, something is happening. Framekit is welded in, on wednesday it will be blasted, primed and painted. So engine, clutch with VITON oil seal will drop in no later than Thursday. Have a very nice set of 4 into 2 into 1 headers and secondaries. Just could not get myself to put it in the '78 F2 I bought, that is a mess. So let the build begin!  ;D Want to ride it before weather goes for worst.

Pic of that 4 into 2 into 1.

Primary's are coupled the right way, 1&4 and 2&3. Can play with the lenght of the secondary's.

Need to modify that end pipe.
This exhaust should give more midrange.

i would imagine slipping, or if it's too much/too cold of water, clutch disc cracking/breaking from the temperature differential and thermal shock...

Yea now that i think about it, i saw a duel purpose street bike at my friends shop that had a dry clutch from the factory.
I can't remember if it was a BMW or a DUCATI.  One note, it was a noisey clutch !

Nothing! There will not be any water between the plates. Only possible 'problem' will be traction in the rain, dry clutch 'grabs' more,

Rob

Yeah you can kinda figure, it runs in oil now, which is slicker and more persistent than water. The spring pressure rings it all out. There are usually drains cut in the fibre material as well.

Sam was being tongue in cheek, as usual.

Hey Ron, I remember the first time I heard the howl of the 500 Gilera four, it gave me goose bumps but I was only a kid back then. A few years later the much more melodious sound of the 250 Honda fours did it for me.
In the mid 60s, I had to hide the feelings that I had for the 5 and 6 cylinder Hondas, they sent shivers down my spine. ::) ::) ::)

but a bloody dry clutch :D :D :D :D :D :D anyway, Rob told me that he is going to make his clutches real quiet like.
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  Sorry Gee ;)

Yeah, a quiet dry clutch. That's the ticket!

Kinda like diet caffeine free Coke. What's the point?   ;D  ;D

Or Non-alchoholic beer, though I've been known to imbibe. That was just to get me thru till I could have a real one.
