Kenny Roberts TZ750 Dirt Tracker

On August 23, 1975, Kenny Roberts threw a leg over the Yamaha TZ750 for the first time. The motorcycle-- a dirt tracker with a fierce two-stroke, 750cc GP engine shoehorned into the frame-- was, according to Roberts, "... the worst handling bike I ever rode." Later that day, Roberts raced like a madman, bouncing off the hay bales, hitting up to 150 mph on the straights, and eventually winning the Indy Mile by half a bike length.

"They don't pay me enough to ride that thing," he later said of the beastly TZ750, but Yamaha Corp. has persuaded the 57 year-old to run hot laps on the bike at this year's Indy Mile.

I am not going to be able to scan and post this great book. It is not 8 1/2" X 11" but more like 8 1/2" X 15". I have no way to scan it and Kinkos will not do it as it is copyrighted. It is almost 200 pages long. Since it is hard bound it is very hard to try to put on a copier with a scan function. Sorry, Dan

The "Godzillas" were very successful when introduced, everything else had a hard time keeping up with them. They were that succesful that they changed the format, ruling them out of competition. Since then it's all been about V8s, which is OK, I guess... Just not as exciting for as it was back in the 80s and early 90s with the greater variety of cars (turbos, non-turbos, 4wd, 2wd etc) that could compete in the Group A formula. Thankfully it being ruled out of Australian action it didn't affect it's development ...not that I can afford one! It's just that we have pushrod(!) V8s as the main event instead... :-\  Don't get me wrong, they are bloody fast, but it's boring when it's a 2 horse race.   

OK, end of rant...   ;)

The GT-R is a fantastic car, no doubt, but I love those Australian V8s!!! There is a supercharged Vauxhall I would love to see imported to the states... Guess its closest American equivalent would be the CTS-V(also nice), but I still like ya'll version better!!!

But, if I had the money... The only car I would buy is an Mitsubishi Evo 8. Love that car...
