hey guys, what do you think about this:

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95563

it's pretty powerful, has digital settings AND it's heated!!  i think it'd be great for cleaning carbs, petcocks and other small parts that can fit in there.  it's on sale until nov. 4 for $59.99 and i have a 20% off coupon, so i'm looking at only $48 or so, not too bad a deal??  has anyone used one of these before?  let me know, i'm going to get it on friday if all goes well...

i have taken my carbs to a guy to clean in one of these and its a great set up... a friend of mine works for a bigger plant of some type and he said that type of cleaner is one of the best his shop uses a few and thier a multimilion dollar company... im sort of suprised they would be that cheap... but it also could be cheap stuff

i've used a different HF ultrasonic, and it was useless. currently we have a medical grade ultrasonic cleaner at the shop, and it works wonders on old carbs.

I have that exact unit, and its fantastic.

I've done a couple of sets of carbs, along with some random parts and pieces-- and everything has come out great.  I am using water with Simple Green mixed about 3:1.

sweet!!  that's exactly what i wanted to hear!  it's def. worth the extra $20 over the smaller jewelery cleaner.  looks like i'll be picking one up on friday!  :-D

oh ya, and the coupons come from me being a "member" of theirs, as in i signed up for it at the store and i get random coupons.  also, they're in the back of some magazines a lot, like pop sci n stuff...

I found that old stained carbs and petcocks needed fine vapour blasting first - the ultrasonic cleaning would not get rid of those stubborn old stains... ;D
