Rearset Assembly -- Building my own
« on: October 27, 2009, 07:47:47 PM »
I'm designing rearsets for the 750 that do not require mounting to the original passenger peg frame bracket.  Mine's been cut off, you see.  I'm trying to use as many of the stock parts as possible, as in the pegs and the control levers.

I don't have a bike with rearsets, and I need to examine a few details of how the joints are done.  Could anyone please take some large photos that show them?  In particular, I'd like to see where the foot peg and base of the gear lever come together.  The Raasks that I've seen have a sort of bushing at the base of the gear lever that allows it to rotate, it appears.  How close is that fit?  Do you ever have to grease or lube it?

I'd also like to see more detail of the brake linkage.

You can attach the photos to posts on this thread, thanks.

they are really simple, i think all i'll need to do is fab up some frame mount tabs, then i'll machine out an adjustable mounting plate for them so i can fine tune things...
