How to install a new crankshaft oil seal
« on: November 01, 2009, 10:48:48 AM »
I'm about to put my case halves back together on my 75 CB750K5 and I want to replace the crankshaft oil seal.  I has a lip on the back side that fits into a groove in the case.  My question is, exactly how do you remove the old one and then install the new on.  Obviously I'm not that worried about wrecking the old one when removing it, but I want to put the new one it right.  It seems like you might have to slide it down from the top in order to get the thing to fit into the groove on the case.  Any advice?

Install the seal on the end of the crank before you lower the crank into the case half.
