Quick question: Can I remove a main jet w/o removing carbs?

For starters I just need to remove one jet to see if a shop has that type in stock.  Can I drain the bowl on carb 4, remove the float, unscrew the main jet emulsion tube, and remove the jet from that.  Do I risk any harm?  Bike is a '77 cb550 with the screw in type main jets.

Yes, and it's not even that hard: just remove the bowl, dump the gas into a small container so you can return it to the gas tank (I'm cheap!  ;D ), and work on the jets.

Ya I went out to see how hard it could be, planning to stop if I rean into a snag.  You're right. quite easy.
