decking either the head or the cylinders for more compression?
« on: October 27, 2009, 11:33:59 AM »
i have a 750 and i'm thinking i want to do a cam, head porting and more compression. is it doable to bump compression on a 750k head without having to go to a shorter cam chain? or am i just dreaming again?

well i took 1.1mm off my f2 head and still have plenty of adjustment left in the chain . an adjustable cam sprocket is a good idea to get it all timed right though . if the bike is standard you would probably be better off getting an 836 kit , more cc and more compression without any messing about.

it depends how high you take the compression ratio , i run 10.4 to 1  on standard 95 octane unleaded without any ignition changes with no problems
