TACH CABLE ISSUE
« on: October 29, 2009, 07:46:12 AM »
Guys,

One huge Snafu on the cb350f cafe build came when I could not get the tach cable out of the rockerbox. I ended up just cutting the cable at the input housing, allowing it to simply sit there and spin. I was going to drill the Phillips screw out, but I was concerned with messing up the threads in the rockerbox. I have had no intention of putting a tach on the bike at the time, but I'm thinking it might be a good Idea if I plan on winding this little guy out. If I leave it as is, can it lead to any damage down the line? If I remove it and decide to not replace the cable, will it leak oil? Any ideas?

You can leave it for now and it should be fine.  might be able to get that screw out with an impact driver or a small pair of vise grips.
