With Buell being shut down, Harley Davidson is offering 5000 rebates to dealers on the 1125's and $3000 on many other models.

I'm getting one of these:

http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/street/1125CR/

for the crazy price of:   $6599   I just couldn't pass it up.  It's a whole lotta bike for under 7k brand spankin' new.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

I saw those deals they were running on those. That is an absolute steal. I'm sure it will be a classic some day, last bike of a pretty innovative brand.

Hmmm....

I'm going to go look at a Buell tomorrow...
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

I didn't know Buell had a model that "normal" looking.  I just got to thiking maybe that's what a new XLCR would be like?
That really is a great deal.  Less money than a new V7 Classic, even.

I hope you'll post a ride report.

Its a development of Aprillia RSV1000 (originally made by Rotax)
Aprillia started making their own engine so that was going spare?
'Buell' redesigned a few things to make it 'Harley'
It is going to be a classic, wish I had the cash to buy and stash one for a few years.

If I had a Buell dealer anywhere near me, I probably would be heading there ASAP. That's just NUTS!! Harley is STUPID for shutting down Buell. Their failure is Harley's own fault.

Still not here - dealer said it would be another week.

But it gets better - A dealer here in Dallas quoted me $4995 for the 1125 CR  &  $5995 for the R version.  There will be about $600 for delivery and another $275 for
final assembly + TTL  So I should be out the door for right around $6350 - RIDICULOUS
I had to have the sales mgr repeat the price repeatedly just to be sure.

I am still toying with the idea of trying to not ride it much and try to keep it as a collectible - Not sure I could really do that.   I'm pretty good at keeping
things clean as I'm not really a bad weather rider.

My other option is to make a hot rod / bobber styled bike with it.  My buddy, (the guy on Two-Guys Garage that is building the crazy bad-ass CB550) also has some
frames that will hold that engine.  It uses the forks, braking system, and various other parts as well.  The rest could be parted and sold to help buy the remaining parts
that I need.

Decisions, decisions.

**HD still has over 100 of these bikes in Wisconsin and some dealers will work with you to get one.  Some seem to be taking a bit more advantage of their rebates,
I found that most were listing them at $6995 which is still a good deal.   I just happened to stumble upon a dealer that is just helping HD get rid of them.
