Shouldn't there be gaskets here?
« on: October 31, 2009, 10:04:49 AM »
I'm ready to put the lower and upper cases back together on my 75 CB750K5 but I'm wondering if I am missing some gaskets.  Check out the pics.  I have highlighted in red where I would expect to need to put gaskets, but in my complete gasket kit from CycleX, I can't find anything that matches.  And, when I took the cases apart there wasn't any gasket material there.  I haven't scraped anything yet so what you see in the pics is how it was when it came apart.

Can anybody take a look at these and let me know if I'm crazy and I don't need gaskets when putting the cases back together?  Or maybe I just don't have all the gaskets that I need.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

In other words, there isn't a preformed gasket or gaskets for it.  You just have to use Hondabond and make your own "gaskets" to seal the case halves together, right?

Thats right . The link CBJoe points to is correct . I put Three bond on one case half in a thin layer with a small brush and put the halves together . No leaks . It was Mrieck who posted the instructions I used .
