Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

You can get them from david silver spares - thanks Deltarider!

"David Silver has TEC. www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/part_70781/ and www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/part_70782/"

Cost about $45 bucks a set for the set shipped. If you buy the whole points assembly, you may or may not get OEM points, as it says non-oem.

I don't know if the points are the same for both the 550 and 500.

If you find somewhere cheaper, let me know.

The hondaman ignition works with points, so you still need them.

If his are better then wouldn't it a good idea to contact him to find out where he gets the points from?

His ignitions do not replace points, they plug into the bike near the coils (if I'm not mistaken), and reduces the levels of electricity that runs through the points themselves. The Hondaman ignition itself is an "extra" you add to your ignition, does not replace any existing equipment.

He did a write up on the differences between tolerances of OEM and the cheepo points, and did purchase both sets from somewhere, so he may have a good source for the OEM points. It would be worth a PM as you said.

I got mine from my local bike shop and bought the plate complete, Cheaper then all the parts separately. I believe it is genuine Honda.
