OK I seem to have performed some form of magic and it would be a great trick if only I could reverse it!
Jaffa's GSX400L stopped and wouldn't restart, the starter did nothing when pressed so I began systematically checking the starter circuit.
The solenoid worked so onto the starter, it was dead so removed it and stripped it down.
After that it worked great again but wouldn't start the bike.
I removed the alternator and checked the small clutch mechanism which worked well too but I noticed that the starter motor was spinning the clutches the wrong way for it to mesh and turn over the engine.
All I can guess is that the starter is spinning in the wrong direction, if it spun anticlockwise it would work great!
Anyone got a clue what the heck I have done???
