You will now raise the seat height up about three inches, with that seat and of course you gotta build some support under it. Here is how I did it. It's just 3 pieces of .125 aluminum welded together. Sits right on top the frame.

Hmmm, seems there is more than one way to skin a cat! my seat pan is wider than yours and I am going to mount is as low as possible . I have another idea. I still am gonna brace the dip in the frame but it will be less noticeable when I am done. I plan on concealing much of the frame and have a grand idea, stay tuned...
necessity really is the mother of all invention!!Curious Bodain, how did you setup your tail /brake light. Where did you get it ?

My CM400 has a similar frame dip, I'm probably gonna fab the seat a little bit like this Zero Choppers bike, but with more padding and wheel clearance.

Tail light... It's an automotive tailight purchased at Autozone for about $6.00. I'll be interested in seeing the creative solution you come up with for the seat and irregular shape of the frame.

nice 1~ Bodain , I also have a sweet LED marker light I am gonna install. I was gonna dremel the seat out in the rear and flush mount it but now I think I am just gonna get a strip of LEDS and mount them right below the rear of the seat pan.

Is yours a functional brake and tail/running light?
I have been doing some reading about how to make a standard marker led into a dual intensity LED. THe trick is to put an appropriate resister inline going straight to your light from your running light wire(stock one) and say it will be reduced to like 6volts or so , Then runn another light from your brake pedal to your light that bypasses the resistor on the running light circuit. So when you press your brakes it gets the full twelve. The theory sounds good to me , anybody see why it wouldn't work?
Now where to find LED strips locally at or around 12 bucks ..... ???hmmm

I used a custom dynamics LED tail/stop/turn
very flexible, but you'd have to use seal all or a similar MEK based glue to attach it securely.

integrated LED thing

IC that is very cool , how hard was it to wire ? I mean did it involve any extra steps to make the brake lights and parking lights function?
If they were twenty bux cheaper I'd go that route for sure . I found this site http://www.superbrightleds.com/light_bars-flexible.html
and I could make my own for like 1/6th of the other guys price.
MEK based glue, do you have a picture of yours installed?

it comes with a little doodad that splits the red wire from the tail light into two wires for brake and running light. its super easy to wire in, and there's a 3 year warranty on the unit.

Pretty sweet. I think I am just gonna flush mount this marker led light I got and bracket it from the inside . We don't have to have turn signals in NC so I will put those 50$ elsewhere.

I don't think you want to use those shocks. You should sell them to me and find something else ;D

No wait... Hmmm. They won't work on my current project. Clevis is wrong.

Bodain , hahahahaha! Yeah , I just could not believe it when I saw them !!!! What a bargain. I was just gonna polish up the old ones but this definately adds a new element of sweetness and dresses it up quite noticeably. Not to mention I think the old shocks where played as they bounced like a dirt bike!  I got seals and seal covers coming for the front forks . A fork brake or a new front end would dramatically increase its handling and maneuverability or so I have read.

Bucky thanks, I might make it your way sometime this coming week or weekend if you are gonna be around . I need a shifter arm and possibly pegs. Mine is bent funny or something (you can see on the first page in this thread) , that'd be awesome if you had that . Also a radiator shroud possibly . I have to find some of those muffler gaskets that kinda look like brake pad material to install the mufflers back on . Anyone know if you can get those generic at a parts store or something? I am toying with the notion of getting some reverse cone chrome megaphones for it but would rather save the money ,so far I have got less than 400$ on this project. I think those pipes might look nice and if it suits my fancy I could always saw them off megaphone style ....hmmmm   any thoughts on the bike color anyone?

Zaipai , that is my dilemma. Black or Red..... I think those shocks and the chrome/polished aluminum accents would look awesome with the black but on the other hand , Red would bemy prefered choice if I didn't have the red in those shocks to contend with . Blessing or curse!LOL  Now I see why I should sell them to you Bodain!LOL It's like someones who wins the lottery and srews up there life , :o
Well , I will go one way or the other . Someone say the shocks will look better with the black paint or that they will look just fine with the red. I have looked at this bike to long that I can't see it no more if that makes sense!

Bucky, I might have a hundred gig western digital hard drive I could give you if it'd help you out. One more thing about bike parts, you wouldn't happen to have a title for that old one you got would ya? One other thing I thought off was if you had the twin brake rotor system up front. Most american market bikes only had the single so I know it's a long shot but you never know. Also if you have the round guages and not the "Darth Vader" guages that'd be cool .

OK so here's a shot of the new shocks . I think they look great!
I am in the process now of wiring my tail light which is a LED that will be flush mounted with the rear cowling.

Here is the part were I could use some help.

I planned on running a LED marker light and wiring it for a brake/tail light as follows:

Put an in line resister to knock down that 12v feed to like 6-8v for my running light. Then bypass the resister for the brake light circuit so I would get a burst of 12 v for the brake light . Instant dual intensity LED tail light for 10 bux instead of fifty(did I mention I was on a budget?)   I got this idea from several other forum posts but the resister to use was never specifies. I told this chick at radio shack what I needed and she gave me the part below. I put it in the circuit between the hot wire and the battery and it isn't dimming them at all. What am I doing wrong here>

if you paint the base coat of the tank in gunmetal and then transparent candy apple red over that it might match those springs
