a Honda 350 but not a 4?

Hey, the 71 SL 350 clutch seems stuck. I can't get it to release but with out it
the bike will go through the gears so it's not a tranny or engine thing I don't think.
I've pulled the sprocket cover and the rod doesn't seem to depress that works the clutch,
I'm thinking of putting a clamp on it for more pressure and trying to depress it.
Should I just pull the clutch anyway. I'll be pulling the engine out of the frame as it goes anyway.

Try putting the bike on the center stand and put it in gear and have a buddy pull the clutch in and then you try to spin the rear wheel. Maybe take out the plugs to lower the compession to. A friend of mine has a 73 Z1 and we resarected it and the clutch was stuck. I wound up sitting on the bike with it in like 4th gear and just pulled the clutch in and slowly started moving the bike back and fourth till it freed the clutch. I understand if your going to pull the motor anyway, but if you can fix this problem before you do you might be better off when you put it back together.

I dont know what the clutch looks like on that bike but mine was stuck on my 550.  I could see the clutch plates seperate some through the oil cap and rocking it back and forth with the clutch in didn't work.  I took the clutch apart and seperated the plates and wiped them down.  They came apart easily enough but I put it back together and cutch works fine.

I just finished adjusting the clutch on a cb350 and they can be kinda funky, just in adjusteing the cable. You would pull the clutch lever about 3/4 of the way (maybe more) and it  would all feel fine, then CLACK! no clutch.  Your problem anything like this?

thanks for the responses.

mine when I pull the lever just feels like it hits a brick wall. No release what so ever.
I'll try the pulling the plugs deal and since its on the work rack might be able to spin that rear tire and get it
free. Thanks.

    You say you are going to pull the engine anyway, are you going into the engine at all?
If so, why not just go into it and take care of it that way? Not too much to it, actually. Just an opinion. :)

Hey Bill, I'll probably take a peak in it since the clutch is questionable. But the engine
only has 7k on it and seems strong when I kick it. I'm mostly taking it out of the frame
to redo the frame but you know how those things snowball.  :)
