I talked to kate at Cycle One and my hardtail should be shipped by the 22nd. So I got to work on other parts till the rest of the frame gets here.

Both tubes are drilled for the headlight brackets.

the tag and taillight mount is almost done.

and a lil more cuttin and grindin the battery box will be done.

The front and rear of the battery box are pretty much done. I need to work on the hold down strap that goes across the top of the battery and the bottom.

Well I got some parts in the mail yesterday and worked a lil bit more on the battery box. Please guys don't make fun of my mock up battery.

Hopefully I will get the engine removed saturday, get the frame cut, and then it is off to the swap meet on sunday.

I just got an email from kate at Cycle one and my hardtail is ready to ship. I made a couple more pieces this weekend and picked up a 16" x 3" wheel ( brand new ) at the swap meet for 40 bucks and got the engine out of the frame.

Does anyone know the spacing of the fork tubes on center ?

I think it's 9" even. I was gonna mention to you sometime that the old air-cooled ATC 250 had 35mm forks and the spacing was 11"... could make a pretty wide front end using your stock forks and brakes...if you don't mind making spacers and a new axle. Food for thought.

Well I got a lil more done last night. I got the it disassebled down to the bare frame and up on the bench.

I got all my cuts marked.

And then we started choppin!

And now we got just a pile of parts and pieces.

So then we started working on making some kind of fork brace since I will not be running a front fender.

Now we are waitin on the fedex guy who should be here today.

Looking good mate, i like the look of the Honda tank on that bike, just needs a slightly higher rear tank mount and a good sprung seat....

My buddy Tim let me borrow a sporty tank to see what it looks like. I like the honda tank but it is way to flat across the back. The sporty tank looks to small but I have a king sportster tank on the way to see how it looks.

The build looks great! Your going to want to roll that seat-pan though. Curve up the back so theres something to slow your rearward progress when you hit the gas. If its flat, and you have forward controls (which it looks like your planning on from the 1 pic) theres nothing keepin' your ass in place.

Thanks Von Yinzer! I am going to bend the rear of the pan up like you said. I was going to do it last night night but my torch set was empty. So maybe tommorrow or wednesday we will get them filled and bend the pan.

I think I am up to about 459 holes so far. Well I got my seat pan bent the other night.

I think it will do the trick but I dont know how I am going to mount it at the front. Right now there just a ubolt with a tube welded to it clamped to the frame. i have a round style seat bracket and I have been thinking about drlling a hole thru the back bone inserting a sleeve and welding it in. This will keep the front of the seat lower.

I went back and redriled the headlight mount brackets that go over the fork tubes. Before it was drilled with all the same size holes. Now it alternates with a row of small holes and a row of big holes.

Well I got a lil more work done . I worked alot my seat and oil tank mount but I am still thinking about the electronics box.

Then I made some frame tabs to mount it up with.

With the oil tank hanging below it we are going to have chain clearance problems

So its back to the drawing board.
