Let's watch these spin up
« on: December 12, 2005, 03:15:13 PM »
Here ya go. A nice NOS set of Candy Gold sidecases. Funny, the color looks exactly like what I have on the tank and sidecases that were just sprayed. But mine will not turn gold in the shade, they remain like this.
Anyway - let's watch and be stunned. Right now $301 and reserve not met. And notice that there are two left side Honda Wing emblems.

Left wing, and coming from France... Hmmm..... ::) ;D

These the result of a "fire sale"? ;)

I just checked back on this auction to see what the final selling price was.

Wow!! :o :o    Are these things made from real gold?

That's madness; surely you could buy covers and get them painted for less than half that price?

I guess whoever bought them will put them away in an air-conditioned store for a couple of years and sell them on?

If if bid on them do I get a Karma or not?

Looks like the reserve is 3 times what I paid for my last cb750. But I really need a side cover for my
1974... ;D

Tell you what, DSS is selling repro covers for about 40 quid (that is about 60 bucks). Even after repainting, they would be great substitutes in my opinion. If I paid 600$ for the sidecovers, I would keep them on a safe and intall cheap ones, afraid of them being stolen.

The original side covers are still on the 750 and I think about how easy it would be for someone to swipe them when I park it.  I'd hate to lose them since they have the original tags on them with the manufacturing date and serial number of the bike.  What do the DSS repro covers look like?  Are the duplicates of the OEM covers or are they something like the Maiers?

Actually, it looks to be a K0 side cover. Do these have the same plastic 'posts' as the original ones for installation? Can't see the back in order to tell.

That's interesting! The little louvers only appeared on the K0 version and were backed with some screening, sort of fake air intakes.

best way to keep them is to tether them with those security cables and glue for computers, and a "real" 750 rider wouldn't want to break one.
