Simple Green
« on: February 27, 2009, 05:16:32 PM »
Whats the best way to dispose of used, grimey, greasy, simple green...I let it sit around for a few days because it made the garage smell good...but now the smell is gone. Do you guys just pour it in the woods, into the street...take it to the dump as misc waste?
Give me some options.

What made it grimy and greasy?  I think Simple Green itsself is biodegradeable, but its hard to say about what you have in it.

I bring my greasy/oily Simple Green to the same county recycling and household hazard materials center I bring my used motor oil. It is free where I live. Check your area recycle centers.

well if you just cleaned off your motor oil off your bike, then I wouldn't be dumping it in the woods. Just remember it's now hazardous waste.

Ask your local auto parts store, if it does have oil in it they may take it since like coyote said it's biodegradeable. We have done that with bottles of engine degreaser some times for people.

Can't say if it available in the U.K. or not.

Edit: Apparently it is available in the U.K.

I used to use a lot of Simple Green.  Now I use this stuff.  Much better in many ways.

I had an interesting experience a few years ago with Simple Green and NAPA's old carb dip.  Not a good idea to let them come in contact with each other.  The stories about women dying when mixing different cleaning products in toilet bowls comes to mind.

I would think that if you let it dry up, you could place it in the ordinary household garbage, kinda like disposing latex paint.  But the idea of taking it to the local haz-mat collection site is better.

I wonder if they are related to Sam Green?

I just pour it over whatever my wife has prepared for supper.

It improves both the flavor and nutritional value!
