Called previous owner from 1970
« on: November 06, 2009, 04:38:57 PM »
The friend that I bought my 1964 Suzuki T10 from gave me the name of the guy his father bought it from in 1970. Called him to see if he had any old pictures, history, etc. Said he spent a year in VA hospitals from injuries in Viet Nam and when he got out in 1968, he bought the bike from a friend who was drafted. Was his first bike and he said it probably saved his life. Had major depression after all he had been through in 'Nam and riding got him through it. Said it got wiped down and waxed every week. Told him it was still in excellent condition, he just kept saying "I'll be damned". We talked for 30 minutes. Still has the Suzuki oil mix bottle and is going to bring it and some old pictures when he comes to see it.

Great story. That's a bike with a real pedigree. It would be great to see the owners, past and present, with the bike!

Great story mate, I bet that will mean a lot to the PO, I'd love to know (or maybe not) what happend to my CB750 F that I bought new in the 1970's, for instance. I just bought a really nice 1973 Laverda 750 SF1 and I think I've located the original owner, (A Navy Officer) I've sent him an email but haven't heard back from him yet. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
