If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

I had an old Case 580C, great machine but there's no way i would do that on it, i have had hoses blow and the back just dropped like a stone and you have no control over it until it all stops. Now bobcats are a different thing all together.... ;D

What do you think of it? I really liked mine, simple to work on and after changing all the hoses to reusable fittings it all became DIY, saved me a small fortune not to mention what it saved me dollar wise being able to do all the work on my property. I sold it to my neighbour for the same price i bought it for 8 years earlier and i still get to use it when i'm up that way..... ;D

Mick, it's a great machine, I use it everyday and just fix stuff when it breaks.  :)
But really, for what I've spent in repairs the last 15 years it still been the cheapest
machine I've ever owned. I finally redid the brakes this summer and for $600 bucks
it's got the brakes it had new. I've had to replace the hyd. pump once and she dropped
a valve but didn't hurt the piston so what can I say. I'll stick with Case. Now, I'd like
to find a 580 Super K in 4x4 and I'd be set. Well, almost. I rented a JD 120 track loader
a couple of years ago and built a road for the land owner on a boundary of timber we cut.
Now those new excavators with all that electronic control are very nice to run. Hooked a rock
breaker to it and she did the job on some tough rock also.

Yeah, there's some pretty trick gear out there these days but its bloody expensive. +1 on the 4wd, that was the only thing i wish mine had, apart from that it was a great machine, tough as nails.. ;)
