The early k's are the epitome of classic UJM aesthetics.
If one is blind! See to me, those years are the best to chop up. Toss the ugly front fender. junk the ugly gaitors. beat some knee dents into the tank. The seat is so homely that I would ALMOST put on a king/queen! I guess I just do not use enough ben-gay to think the early years are nice looking, except for the engine of course. But don't worry, you can like the early years all you want! More of the later ones for me and vice versa! So we both can win.
I remember the chopper-uppers in those days saying something like that about the front fenders, too.
...until their first road trip to Sturgiss or Yellowstone, in the rain & snow...
...with the constant drool down their jacket zipper that came from the stream-between-the-eyes that comes from having a short (or missing) front fender...
Which seat style do you not like? I really liked the K0 ducktail and the original K2 wasp-waist ones, myself (K2s quite rare to find today, miss mine). There were 4 seat styles on the K0-K6.
