Replaced the stocker clutch with an EBC version.  Weird, I measured the originals and they were almost brand new.  I think I glazed them over on the trip to Barbers last year.   Gotta go get some oil to top it up, I only had a half quart on hand?

took the grab bar off the 350. I've been taking a basic welding course at school and I want to see if I can finally fix my broken blinker mount.

I'm gonna be boring - no pix tonight.

I installed the Dyna 2000 main unit and pick ups. Went to the Honda dealer to listen to them #$%* about my Honda brand parts ordered vs their generic stuff and put them through another hassle by checking off MY list and asking them to cross reference superceded part numbers so I'd know what they are giving me vs what I paid for online. What the hell do they get paid for?! I reminded them it's a good thing I mostly order online and save them that little detail.

Got home and finished up 4 or 5 things that I needed those parts for then started on my rear brake system. That damned rear sprocket is another 2 weeks out so I've decided to mock it with my existing sprocket to make some progress. Next up - build the rear caliper and install then put on the fargin rear wheel, chain, chain guard and CR31's plus the Kerker then it's FLUIDS TIME! I'm thinking those 2 more weeks I'll wait for the rear sprocket should give me just the right amount of time to polish off all the little BS and turn it into a bike again ;D

Rebuilt my coils today :)
The wires where rock hard , and the cable for number 4 was broken where it went into the coil body.
I cut them all of and took a grinder to expose the wires where they go along the coil body surface .
Got five feet of 7mm spark plug wire from the store .
Soldered them onto the wire left in the coils .
Covered the cables in a sort of mesh hose ( really dont know what its called in english ) , some heat shrink on the ends , screw the caps back on and hey presto , looks way better than new :)
All thats left is to fill the parts i removed
With epoxy ,for insulation and to sement everything firmly .
Edit :
Did the epoxy , used a couple of pieces of tape to make a mold , it follows the shape of the coils .
Then used a syringe to fill the cavities with epoxy , two holes , one to fill ,one to let air out , worked like a charm

Got a 77/78K tank for "Beans".  I am liking the size of that tank.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

New/NOS F harnesses are NOT available. Sheer luck and much more persistence. I have seen 2 in 5+ years on EBay. I won mine luckily for only $150. Just got a response to a thread here that a company has started making K harness for $90 and is beginning F harnesses. CB750Supply maybe??

MAYBE NOT!!   http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=104650.0;topicseen

Finished my seat mount. Came out like crap. Used the stock hinges and lock. Won't be using those when I do a permanent mount.

While on the test ride, the same exhaust flange backed itself out and I lost one of the two brand new collars. Any reason why this could be happening? Bad studs? Should I use loctite? My #$%*ty plate bracket failed and wedged the plate between the tire and tore it up a bit. Oh, and I forgot to put the cam cover side cover bolt back in, and it pissed oil all over my pants and shoe. Made a HUGE mess (you can see it missing in the above photo).

Rode to work wearing my new jacket - Xelement vintage brown. Quite happy with my new gear.
Fog in places, very enjoyable 20+ miles in VA. My commute is actually 1.5 miles but I tend to make loops to get there when I ride :)

Yesterdays work:
Points were off, seems 2-3 was too close not really letting them fire and caused the plugs to be fouled.
Redid timing.
Took carbs off, bench synched, fixed gas leak, float adjustment needed.
Dicked around with the carb settings.

All in all, not a bad day

dimitri13,you can locktite the stud into the head,or even use any hard setting compound, you shouldnt need to though, are you sure those collars were in correctly and seated?is that a temp exhaust or do you have plans for something a bit more restrictive and quiet,im not being funny here,i just dont understand those non existent exhausts?

it's not the studs that came out, it was both nuts that backed off the studs.

Yeah, they were in there correct. Lots of thread came through the nut, same as all the other flanges. The flanges are all original oem stuff, and the collars I use there were new oem stuff. Before I lost them the first time, they were original oems, just like the other three. I didn't have this problem until I took my headers off to do some head work.

I had a muffler on there, but it fell off. My next paycheck I'll be getting another.

Dimitri13,
Vibration can be intense and it would really help to keep those parts from coming off of there if you replace the muffler and put a good solid rear mount on your exhaust system back there.

Today these arrived on my doorstep.  Scored them taking a chance on a vague eBay ad that only had a grainy pic of the shocks, and made no mention of S&W...

Got them for $50 shipped!   8)

Yeah. I had some autozone muffler tip that just screwed into place. It was fine for about a week then fell off on the highway. I'll be switching back to my mac can soon enough. As for the collars, do ya'll think one will seal the exhaust until I get a replacement?

Replaced the stacks with stock airbox. Will save stacks for aftermarket carbs. Quick question on the jetting tips though:

2 jet sizes for 4 into 1 exhaust

2 jet sizes for no muffler (open header)

Do you add these two together if you've got 4-1 headers with no muffler (2+2-1=3)? Or just count the open header (2-1=1)?

Dimitri, do you wear a full face helmet?  If not you better get one soon.   ;D   Sorry, I have to laugh at your logic here.  Someone posted a how-to a while back that was broken down like that.   Is that what you're referring to here?  Sorry, but it's not that easy.
