So that is why my brake was sticking.  I guess the PO didn't know
brake fluid doesn't last 36 years. Alll cleaned out and working great now.

As I threatened last week I started tearing down the CJ360T today.
Are practically all the nuts welded to the frame on all these 360's? Or was Honda really saving an extra buck on the CJ?
It was nice pulling an engine that didn't require a lift!
I got the engine up on the UJMES (Universal Japanese Motorcycle Engine Stand) and stopped for the day.

I'd like to thank the Dairy Association and their fine crates without which none of this would be possible. ;D

Oh, and that remote idle adjuster is pretty slick!  :)
I noticed my CJ had a similar device when I pulled the carbs.

Well I got a call "out of the blue" from an old mate, wanting to catch up. We were going to go for a ride today, but the weather is crap, so we called off the ride and instead, he invited me over to his place to see his new "man cave". (I can't bring myself to call it a garage as it cost more to build than my house did)

John has been collecting bikes for many years, and has a very impressive collection currently. This CB1100R is the "sister bike" to the 1982 Castrol 6 Hour winning bike, ridden by Wayne Gardner. John has 2 other CB1100R's, but they're in the process of being restored, and are stored elesewhere.

Like it or not, the CX500 Turbo will probably one day be a collectors item. John picked this one up with a blown turbo, but one day, it'll be as good as new.

In this corner, is an "undressed" Yamaha XJ650 Turbo that John recently imported from the US. Mint condition, but once again, the turbo is clagged. There's also a Ducati 600 Pantah and a lovely CB1100F.

John turned 50 a couple of months ago, so he beought himself this new Goldwing. I'm happy to say that it weighs almost 200 pounds more than my Triumph Rocket III, check out that dash!

Not impressed yet? Check out his RC30 on the Mezzanine floor!

John's had this Bimota DB1 the longest, he bought it after he sold his Ducati 750 F1 and wanted something exotic. He's also got a Bimota YB5, but it's in the process of being restored, and is stored with his two other 1100R's.

It was great to catch up with John and inspect his collection, and hopefully when the weather warms up a tad, I'll get a chance to see some of them out on the road! Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yep, that DB1 is an amazing bike Mick, I'd rather have a HB1 or an SB2 though. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Just sitting back and waiting on parts to arrive...

... so therefore there is nothing to say as far as what I did on my bike today.

But - I do pick up all my chrome plating work on Tuesday, so photos will appear soon.

And Terry - as soon as my new sleeves arrive, I will appear on your doorstep with more lubricant!

LOL!

I biked 50 miles yesterday while my CB750 was parked.

Reminds me of a joke:

You know you are a parent when there is Desitin in your night stand where KY Jelly used to be.

Bought some real nice HM300's for the Gunfighter...$300!  Also got a line on a CB500 parts bike from the same dude.  He's making one nice bike out of two, with really nice original boss maroon metallic tins.

The 4th pipe is hidden.

Finished stripping the CJ360 and then rode the 750K5 80 miles.  It's hot out there today.

Went to drain the oil out of the 360 engine and found the first PO WTF.   >:(
I applied some heat and vise grips and got the plug out. Happily not cross threaded or stripped.
Drained out some of the thinnest oil I've ever seen in a motor... Hmm..
Now I've got to decide if I'm going to powder coat or just paint the frame.
