The plate has been relocated to the spot in that picture? I like it! Any pictures of how it's attached or a DIY guide? I hate axle-mounted  plates and I don't ahve enough clearance under my tail.

Lowered 3" in the front, 2.5" in the back. New drag bars. Went over carbs again and finally got them to quit leaking fuel, I adjusted the flaots with the carbs at a 45 degree angle instead of vertically and they are good to go now. Bike runs awesome.

Went to the DMV and got it registered :) Took it for a ride about 80 miles today my cheeks hurt from the sh@t eating grin on my face..

JamesM - I do like the stance  8)  How does your bike perform with fuel levels so far off spec? :o  get back to us in a few weeks  ;D

tuning your carbs like ^ not recommended.  change in fuel level alters performance.
IIWM, id pay $20 for new float valves and set my carbs up correctly. ;)

Picked up a 75F and a wrecked K parts bike a little while ago, I finally got around to see if I could get the F to run. Motor was seized and number 4 was filled with rust & gunk so I thought it was a gone'er. Turns out that cylinder just so happens to be on TDC so a couple hours after freeing it she ran! Probably going to sell her to fund my 592 and 69 750 projects. Ignore the mess...

Received my fork tubes from forking by franks today. These are extremely nice. Only 40 bucks to cut down to stock length and 25 to overnight shipping. Ap not bad IMO. The rebuilt the forks installed on the bike. Installed the K0 gauges on her too. Also put in the all balls bearing in the front hub. Went smooth but now the axel doesn't move when tightened all the way.

Did you line up the speedo drive? There's a set of tangs that you line up with the indents in the speedo drive.

Do the bearings spin freely by hand (spinning the inner race with your fingers)? If not, then the non-retainer side bearing may be a floating bearing and shouldn't be driven all the way in, just like the rear.

Unlikely the spacer stack is wrong, as there's only one spacer.

How'd you drive the bearings out? I used some PB Blaster on it and tried using a punch and hammer. Couldn't get a good bite on it. I'm soaking it overnight, and will try again in the morning, hopefully with a better technique.

I used all Balls so I am not sure if they had a specific direction to be put in. I followed HondaMans instructions from his book. I will take apart again tonight and take a look.

Hey Tews, you can rent a kit like that at Autozone, or Advance Auto

They make ya use a credit card but they don't charge it unless you don't bring it back.

Performed marathon overnight carb cleaning and general tune up. Raised the clip position one notch to lean them out- plugs were quite rich. Replaced plugs, adjusted valve lash, cam chain adjustment. Synched carbs. Now overflows from carb #3. Idle is quite high as well at about 2000 RPM. Need to try synching again and take the carbs off again to fix the leaking problem. Probably that valve is still dirty me thinks. Will measure float height again and check that the float tab is working. Will try the clear tube method prior to taking off carbs again. Could have missed something during a tired time during the night. Otherwise, runs like a champ :)

Also, I love my JIS screwdrivers.

I used something similar to this. from the same place but the one I used is like 20 bucks. Came out really easy

If the bearings do spin freely, then it's likely the speedo drive isn't lined up. My mechanic that did my tire had that issue, and I only found out yesterday when I disassembled the axle and found the speedo drive had pressed into the retainer making new indents.

...cleaned the next two carb sets, finished the covers, they where chromed before and in bad condition.

  After the batt. went dry and amped out my headlight,Melted winker wires and rear running l. e. d.'s,did I say blow a fuse,Made due by useing bagg lights for running and winkers,This state don't need no stinking headlight unless you wont some body to see you.

 So went and found some of the Ole route 66 ! Hella Hot so bettewr pics later.

You were spot on with the speedo. Took that apart and noticed someone was there before and hacked the hell out of it. Took a spare one off another wheel and replaced.

I got the front end completely done. Everything mounted minus the headlight. Took her for a quick spin in the dark with no headlight and then pulled back into the garage. Tomorrow I will get the rest of the wiring done and new tire on the rear. Then hopefully for a ride before the wife heads out to see that one movie all the perverted ladies are seeing

Great to hear :) Still doing my wheel bearings. Having my shop (that I worked at) bang em out because I don't have the right tools. After that I should be good to go.

Did you drive in both bearings all the way, or is one a floating bearing?
