I took my Triumph Rocket III seats to ACS to get rebuilt. The bike is brilliant, but the seat is awfully uncomfortable  for anything longer than around an hour's ride.

I thought about buying a Corbin seat but I've heard that the Corbin seat for the Rocket III is crap, so I took it to ACS as they supposedly have a "fix" for Rocket seats that makes them really comfy on long rides.
http://www.acmseats.com.au/example-work/triumph-motorcycle-seats/triumph-rocket-111-motor-cycle-seat

It better be good, for 450 bucks!  :o  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

a rocket three is a big bike and quite expensive, they couldve fitted a "jason recliner"standard and not affected performance in anyway?

(jason recliners are the ant pants of comfort chairs here in australia)

Yeah mate, it's massive, and the seat looks good, but it's too thin under your bum and the foam is too soft. When I bought the bike I went on line and asked what the fix was, and all the forum members of the R3 site said, "buy some better rear shocks" so I bought premium Progressive 440's, ($1240.00 retail in Oz, or $700.00 in the US.............) and I didn't notice any difference at all. Great.

I'm hoping the ACM seat will fix it, or I might have to sell it and buy a Harley. Harley's aren't nearly as exciting as Rocket III's, but they are comfy! ;D

Got very very annoyed by the wiring. I am trying to put my 550F back to gether and there seems to be bells and whistles on this thing that....have no place to go. Looks like a resistor, is the size of the turn buzzer but has 5 wires and no markings..one of the wires is pink. frigging thing.

Stripped the fake Vetter fairing off Oliver today in preparation for going down visit Dave the Welder to bring home a real Vetter fairing.  Put the Vetter Windjammer III fairing from the wreaked '72 on to make sure the mount was an actual Vetter mount.  It fits.  I'll ride down without a fairing, bolt Dave's on and ride back.

Managed to get the tire off the front of the '72.  Found the valve stem had torn off the tube.  The tube showed no signs of a puncture anywhere, so I put a couple of pounds of air in it and couldn't detect any leaking.  The tire looks to still be good.  The rim is bent and so are the fork tubes and the front fender.

I'd recommend a Diavel :)

Used the newly rebuilt front master cylinder (for the "Evolution" project) to pump apart the brake components for the newest (and concurrent) project (78' 750F "Red Dog"):

TWO rear master cylinders (one nearly beat me, but I got it!) and TEN calipers (just to find three useable pistons).

My Cb 500 fell over and broke over and broke one of its mirrors.  I had a pair of Ducati mirrors from another project. Unfortunately, the Ducati mirror in the right hand side had an opposite thread.  I had to ret-hread the shaft and the securing nut.  All worked out OK and the mirrors fit just fine.. naturally, it was essential to repaint the mirrors to look OK.  The view from the mirrors in an improvement over the original equipment.

Tried to mount a new fender today...... Failed its a very tight fight in the frame. Everytime i would get it centered up where it wasnt rubbing it would shift with any pressure on it...  Really wish i had the cash for a seld so i could make so better mounting points for it... Fell asleep in the building leaned against the wall looking at the bike in distgust. Woke up went inside. Angery vent of sohc4 llmao. Going to try again in th morning with a clear head.

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Rebuilt both the master and slave clutch cylinders on my VFR750 but I must be getting something wrong in the bleed process because the clutch lever is feather light, the bike changes gear with the rear wheel off the ground, but stalls on gear change on the road.

I will carefully bleed the system tomorrow according to the manual instructions.

Have fun with that Cliff, I rebuilt ken's MC and caliper and replaced all the lines today, so the whole thing is shiny and new, but it's been a prick to bleed, so I packed it all up and I'll finish it tomorrow. The brake lever is "feather light" too, because the lines are full of air, ha ha! ;D

I ordered brake pads and got a gasket set.

Pads = 17 bux

Gasket set = 99 bux.

Guess I'll keep the gasket set and go local for some more pads.

Might as well do the caliper and MC rebuilds while I'm at it.

Got ss lines coming.

Today I fixed my rear brake issue and a strange clanking noise.  All i had to do was tighten the the brake arm where it bolts onto the swing arm.  So happy now that there is no risk of the rear brake locking up! Beautiful day to ride here in Indiana!

tried again to take the rotor off, fail.  I feel like I want to tie a chain around it and lift the bike up just by the rotor to get it to pop off and watch the bike smash into bits. But then I would be really sad :-\
