I threw a tarp and moving blanket over the k8 for the rain, ice, & snow. Grrrrr......I cant wait till I get my shop moved from the city to my country house.

Fired up the K5 yesterday after letting it sit for more than a month. Of course it started right up and soon the shop was filled with fumes.
Mmmm, fumes. ;D
I added a bit of magic Seafoam to the gas and ran it for a bit more then shut it down.

While I was letting the 750 idle I looked at the 80% finished CJ360 and tried to will it to completion.
No luck, maybe next weekend I find the inspiration to continue on it.

I sprayed it with gun blaster cleaner day before to losen up the cirlip.

To get it out I had a small screwdriver  - small enough to fit the circlip hole - ground to sharp point. After several attempts I was able to lift the end of the clip up. Broke the first one of, got it out via the second one. Important to push the piston down to align the groove with the clip. Perseverance is the best tool here:)

I morgan carbtune'd my 350. My number 1 cyl was at the top of scale, while number 4 cyl was not registering, and it ran like a tractor! Much better now.

I also cleaned it, adjusted the chain, and contemplated painting the engine...

When I removed my master cyl circlip, I bought a cheap pair of long nose pliers, and ground and bent the tips such that they would grab the circlip better. Came out eventually.

THX Greggo,

...I tried to get a dent out by the first cb750 gas tank I did but I had a strange feeling, thought the material is too thick and will be going to break by pressing the dent out.

Not sure if I can reach that part in the gas tank with the tools but I will give it a try.

Got my new $6 feebly  3.3v - 30v red LED voltmeter w 8" leads.
Not waterproof, but I plan to seal it with some silicon, and mount it hidden below my gauges.
My son tested on a 9v battery...
Comes in blue, green, yellow and red...

G'Day Georg, to do it properly, you need to buy the proper tools, but they do work. Here's a vid of a guy repairing a CB500 tank, my only concern is that it looks like he didn't quite get the worst dent out? Check it out just after he gives it the "thumbs up" at the 2.50 minute mark. Cheers, Terry. ;D

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hi Greggo,

I don't have a good 'before' pic, but here is a NOS CB550 tank that had a bad dent in it from being dropped inside the box..it was pretty bad, and he couldn't save a chunk of the paint from chipping off, but the metal was almost perfectly smooth..very difficult to smooth out a bad crease.

Okay, I found a good 'before' pic of the 550 tank, and then another of a 750 tank that had a BAD crease from the forks slamming it..he almost couldn't fix the 750 tank, but ended up getting it done

...THX for the pictures  :)

Here is one of the gas tanks that I have, will use it to practice.
But I thing it will not work on the HUGE dent in the red one, in the middle of the dent
the gas tank has his welding line! I thing it is not possible but I will see.

Have a good one...Georg
