Worked on my new K0 a little last night.Prepping it up for its first start. Put a battery in and the Hi/low beam works, turn signals, horn and electric start is working fine. It has spark all around. All 8 of the tappet covers broke loose easily as well as the oil filter bolt. The slides on carb #1 and #2 were stuck but thanks to some lube and my trusty heat gun everything is free now and the floats are moving well. Next step will be to remove the carb rack,GOD I hope I don't bust it as they are a weak link. Overall real happy so far.
Rolled the GT750 in also and am prepping that up also, lubed the cylinders etc. I want some big smoke  :D

BE CAREFUL!  Those things are NOT easy to find.  The heat gun (for the boots) is your friend ;)

They will def get lots of heat, still not looking forward too it. By the looks of the screw heads on the bands I don't think they have ever been off yet.

If you can get a screwdriver in there, you may be able to loosen the rack from the carbs, and pull the carbs individually...I think it's the jerking motions, and the counter pressure from other carbs that cracks them.  Just thinking out loud..

Even with the heat gun mine broke.  Next time I will make sure the boots are soft as possible.

As you can see it can be fixed, cost me a whopping $5 at the local Amish aluminum fabricator.  Good luck with yours Eric

Rode the 1977 SuperSport to work.  Put new pet cock in the 76 cafe and a new battery and rode it around the block.  It is now running well and no gas leaks.. It was a great day in Van Buren AR today

I hard rock hard boots and thought I used enough heat but obviously I did not.          The next time I will try to have another person with the heat gun and also some type of brace that will cross the entire bracket rather than go side to side.   Good luck...Larry

Worked with my new ISR brakes for my 750F1.

Hey that's a nice setup mate, where'd you score that? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.
