Well it was Christmas, I sent all this stuff out early December :P I was supposed to send it out WAY earlier, like mid-October, so it would've been closer to Christmas.

Went out yesterday morning just to look at a bike lift/platform. Didn't buy the lift but ended up with a 1977 750K I will name the 'Wide Glide"   ::)  ::)  Picked it up this morning. Sad story on it as the poor 46 year old owner died 3 months after they found cancer. He had an awesome machine shop, engine shop going also.  Sad,felt sorry for his old Dad.

Got a call today from my brother who's been working part time at a MC shop informing me that the o-rings and seal I ordered for the oil pump for my kids 750 are in the mail and I should be getting them in the next couple of days. I'm not telling my kid a thing because I got a text from him last night telling me he got the engine back in the frame and already asking when I was planning on heading his way to finish it and get it running because carbs and oil pump are still here. If I let him know the seals for the oil pump are heading this way then he'll be relentlessly texting me everyday asking when I was planning to be there. Kind of like a kid in the back seat saying "are we there yet?" every 5 mins you know what I mean?

Problem is he's a member of this site so hopefully he doesn't spot this. :)

Painted my first engine.  Now I have to finish polishing the covers.

The one with the 750 is 22, he got hooked on vintage bikes after his sweet cb350 twin a brother of mine gave him. Youngest is 20 and has a 98 cbr600. The rare times all 3 of us ride together we tend to have more fun than we should no matter how hard we try to behave and if we're not careful the local police is going to bust us big time. :) I ride a lot with the youngest when he's home from school  but he's the one looking over his shoulder to see if I'm still behind him, not the other way around. His cbr is a blast/thrill to ride but I'm too old and would get into way too much trouble with it.

I hear ya loud and clear on that. My youngest bought his with his own $ but I had a LONG talk about it with him in fact it's a common topic when we talk just so he never forgets. Fortunately he's a sensible rider and wont get on it or any bike for that matter without full riding gear. He learns by example and has seen what can happen if you don't use common sense when riding especially a bike like his.

I'm 24 and on my fourth bike. My parents still haven't accepted it
Luckily I'm a smart guy and stick to vintage slow small bikes so I don't get into too much trouble ;)

Sonic, you'll fully understand your parents concerns when and if the day comes you become a parent yourself, trust me on that. Seeing your kid take off on a bike is the same feeling when you first let your kid ride his bicycle on his own or handing the car keys to you kid for the first time. Every screeching tire, every siren you here will stop you in your tracks and you wont rest easy till you see your kid pulling up in the driveway safe and sound.

Don't worry too much.  I'm 36 with 3 young sons, 8 bikes in my backyard, and my mom still haven't accepted me having them  :) I think she can't wait to see me getting rid of some, or all of my bikes

I'm sure you're right.
I just wish they would just let it go and keep their concerns to themselves, at least some of the time. I hate that look every time I ride up or ride off.

My mom offered to pay for all my gas for the rest of my life if I don't ride haha.

Sallied forth and had a new oil hose built and installed it. No more leak from that bad boy. 12 bucks at the farm implement dealer. It doesnt have the 100 dollar Aeroquip braided steel look but itll last another 30 years :)

Sonic it just means that they love you. Ive been riding on and off road since I was 14, and have had my loved ones worry about me every step of the way. I take it as a serious responsibility every time Im out there to come back, I owe it to them.  You cant prevent every accident but you can sure be as careful as you can :) My kids are just reaching the age where they want to start riding street bikes. Im terrified.

My mother told me 23 years ago(when I started skydiving), that if she thought I would listen to her, that she would rather I jump out of airplanes, then ride "that damn bike".  Her brother had a bad crash many years ago, and she hasn't forgotten. He lived, but now has no toes  on one foot. I didn't listen to her, by the way. About either hobby.

I agree with your mom. But I couldn't choose one over the other either. How many jumps do you have?

Checked and set the valves on my 750, getting the last of the spring tune up done. Going to build a new seat for it this week I hope and am waiting on fork braces and steering dampers from Fast from the past for the 750 and kz.

Installed a new battery, mounted a small bracket and bolted up the new tank and adjusted the mounting bracket on the new seat on my wife's new cb650. Got a list of parts to order for it now, should be running soon enough I think.

Started removing all the brackets then cut off the tail section of the frame and welded in a cafe hoop. Still need to clean up the welds when I get a chance but it's solid and holds the weight of the bike.
