Worked on the K6 that I pulled out of the bat cave yesterday. The PO had the fuel lines down under the carbs and then up, how could that work? Also found a stripped nut on the sTarter relay and a spark plug cap that was not attached.
Slapped on some super bars and Pro Grips that I had on the shelf and put the tank on and routed the fuel lines correctly.

Had charged the battery all night so it was ready to crank. The old girl started up after 3 short cranks, she's alive! Adjusted the idle after a short warm up and I was off for a test run. Wasn't expecting this, but the bike runs real good, pods and all.
I was prepared to pull the carbs for a cleaning but not necessary at all. It's loud and popping on decel but overall running good.
The clutch is a bit "catchy" but may get a little better with use. Put about 20 miles on a couple test runs...

Yes, just got the plate today. Thanks again. Since that bike is not a runner and not up for restore yet, I dont plan to go for the title just yet.
I'm pissed at the county now about registering two of my other bikes, I had to get safety inspections and they want me to pay for a new title cuz the clerk made a mistake last year. WTF?!

Test fitted the CA95 carburetor covers I've had laying around for a year.  Also fitted a keyed seat lock and latch on my 500.

I took a break from home renos and went for a quick ride with my wife, tested out some new carbon fiber full face helmets we picked up yesterday. Super light and quiet at speed, pretty stoked to get a new helmet.

Then I ordered a wack load of parts for my wifes cb650 & cb400t2 as well as a couple items for my 750 and Kz1000. Not buying a crotch rocket this spring free'd up some cash for the old bikes, now we just have to wait for it all to show up...

Took advantage of my wife being away this weekend so I began cleaning the carbs on my 750 yesterday and still have 2 more to do today. This is my first time with PD carbs and that small spring on the choke shaft between 2 and 3 carb don't look like it's going to be fun putting back together.

The battery went into my CB500 today.  I checked the tank, sadly, it was empty but the Kreem tank liner I put in 6 years ago looks just fine.  My baby will be on the road tomorrow.

It was 66 degrees today. So I left the garage open. Put new chain on the bike, after it sat in oil bath for four months. It was like fighting with an eel. Waiting on exhaust, an ordered a Pamco ignition.

Still working on polishing the transmission cover. Using a stainless steel brush on the dremel to experiment with different designs.

Repaired the front and rear brake lights on "Black Beauty". Also fixed the starter button. Took a 30 mile "test ride", this bike runs fantastic despite the pods and open exhaust!

Put the gauges back on my project bike.  Very happy with the re-chromed  backs (or is it the fronts?  ::))

Got the PD's back on my 750F and bike was a bear to start and when it did it smoked like crazy and generally ran like crap but it was running on all 4 cyls. The exhaust had a strange odor to it but it wasn't the smell of burnt oil either. I talked to my son about it who had first initially talked to the seller before I bought it and he said the seller had put seafoam in the fresh gas. There couldn't have been more than a 1/2 gallon of gas in the tank so I have a feeling the seller put an overdose of seafoam in the gas which explained the strange odor and possibly the smoke, the OD of seafoam was probably 1 reason it ran like crap but another is the fact the accelerator pump wasn't functioning at all. This was my first time cleaning PD's so afterwards I spotted an old thread here about PD's and the accelerator pump, I wish I had read that thread while I had the carbs apart. :(

Tore down the caliper on Stev-o's project he sent and pulled bleeder and hard line off the caliper after some PB Blaster, ultrasonic,  and oxy-acetylene blue wrench time.  Was afraid the bleeder was going to break.
Cleaned and polished one of the fork legs with some emery and brown tripoli compounds.

Started it first time in 2 months. Good news, ;D started on first tap of starter. Bad news,  :'( #1 cylinder not firing. #2,3,4 are firing great. Time to fiddle with a carb.
