Terry I just cant sell a bike that has much wrong with it, so I end up fixing everything before I sell it, just like you.
Its the only way to go because if you don't, buyers have a way of coming back to haunt you anyway.

Yeah mate, the procedure hasn't really changed for me, I've been doing it this way for 40-odd years, the big difference though, is eBay. Before eBay, I'd buy a non-runner, send a fortune buying parts from the local wreckers yard or my Honda stealer, then sell it in the local "Trading Post" newspaper with only local circulation.

I'd get a few calls, wait around all day for a tire kicker or some jerk who changed his mind and didn't even bother to show up, and eventually sell it to the first person who lowballed me into submission.

Nowadays I just create an eBay auction, answer a few questions, and watch the bids come in. I love eBay............... ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I get more comments and conversation starters from that bike than any of my SOHC...Larry

sacrilege  LOL

Unfortunate but true,  probably would be the same if it were any 60s manufacturer but people seem to really take to the little 150cc white 2smoker.
Finally got my Suzuki S32 running reliably(actually several days ago) and took a 60 mile ride Memorial Day and rode it to work today to show it off ;).     I get more comments and conversation starters from that bike than any of my SOHC...Larry

Pics or it didn't happen

here it is Stev-o but without the mirrors I finally added

Speaking of Ebay and the massive exposure I managed to find an entire canister complete with a used air filter for something like $30 shipped. Got a new air filter(ebay $25 ) Also found new footpeg, kick start, brake pedal rubbers(all ebay).  Replaced the rear sprocket(ebay $40) and spocket dampers(ebay $25).  Little bike runs really well but sure beats the hell on a longer ride.  Seat  is very hard, probably the original tires that have turned into round rubber bricks don't make for a comfy ride, but it sure is fun ;D ;D and very  8) 8) 8) 8)....Larry

Sweet. I bought my little T250 Hustler with original tires, air pump, toolkit etc Larry, and after I replaced one coil, the little bugger flew! I sold it to a Lesbian couple who told me they were keen to buy a two wheeled vibrator, and for the first time in my life, I was speechless. I just took their money and waved goodbye............ ;D

Bet that was a real thrill at 15.  I never had a bike until I was out of the house and in the service-a little Harley Hummer,, which was a heckuva lot of fun...Larry

Front suspension  ::)  My goal is to smooth out the small ups and downs i experience on my commute.
I've been on (what I assume are) stock springs and fresh 15w belray fork oil.  The ride has been pretty firm.  Harsh at times over small/med bumps.
So firm that the OIS on my bar-mount HD video recorder cant process fast enough and the video looks like im on a bad trip :o
Rinsed my forks with mineral spirits and went with 130cc 10w Belray.  Too soft and crazy diver under breaking, but i did not bottom out.  Total dive travel was 104cm
Rinsed that out and went 60:40 10w/15w at 150cc.  Rode in this morning and it felt pretty good.   I have zip ties on the other fork and will see how these compress as i'm pulling in to my drive.
Being the 4th owner of this bike, i really have no idea the age of these springs.  When i take my fork caps off, the springs want to shoot out.
Ive been reading threads and watching vids on suspension setups and getting them dialed in. A new set of Progressive springs are certainly a possibility. Emulators, meh..for the riding i do, i think its kinda overkill.  I thought i'd change up oil weight and level and see what happens.

Yikes! Do you have all the weight off the forks when removing the caps? You should, and the caps should gently pop into your hand, very little pressure behind them.

OEM springs of any age are generally considered sub-par. That includes new. So elevate the purchase of new aftermarket springs IMO.

yeah, i have the front suspended from the ceiling.
with the fork caps off, there is about 1"-1.5" of spring out the top of the tube.

Seems excessive to me, OCICBW.   ???  Memory is, very little if any spring is above the tube. But its been a while since I've seen one.

Received the new(ish) Ikon shock for my BMW. It looks like new, the seller said it'd only done around 300 miles before he took it off and sold his bike, and it certainly looks that way. I saved 450 bucks off the new price, so I'm a happy boy. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Spent some time with the wife finishing up the maintenance on her cb400t2, new chain and sprockets, cush rubbers, cleaned the rear brake drum and shoes and put a new dust seal on the rear wheel. Man what a differance in the ride, her chain and sprockets were toast. Went up a tooth in the front while we were at it.

Took the 750KO to work on Friday. I always park what ever bike I ride inside the parts dept. The service mgr. even though I ride it to work quite a bit never saw it until today and thought it was a old Triumph from a distance and a parts runner from O Reilly auto parts was all over it checking it out. Said years ago he had a K5 and wish he had held on to it.

I found the disconnected wire that caused one of my turn signals to stop functioning after a steering head bearing replacement. To get more room to search, I was able to pull the whole nest out of the bucket, and later stuff it back in. I was hoping to be able to tidy it up, but to no avail.

Tackled the valve adjustment for the first time. Put nearly 5k on the bike since I got it so I figured it was time to give it a go. Much to my relief it still ran when I was done! Thought I would surely jack something up in the process. Smooth as a baby's ass 8)
