Skonnie Boy,
WHAT does the Chicago tag let you do??

 Who and what needs it..?

Um, the tag allows your bike to park and uhhh, exist on Chicago streets.  Its a handy revenue grab for the city, given that most vehicle fees goes to the state.  I knew I should have just kept my old TX plates on.

Fasturd:  That is some fine 400SS you got there.

Charged the battery, filed the points, fired up my 750A and rode it home from my friends garage where it's been living the last few months. Took the bags and chrome fin guards off the K2 and put them on the A, rode the K2 to school tonite, got home just as it started raining. Put 'em both under the tarp.

No plastic as that would prevent the leather from breathing, and eventually it would rot from the inside out, I am planning on using a half inch of furniture type batting sewn to the back of the leather it is a loose weave but stiff enough to smooth out any irregularities in the foam as those tend to telegraph through thin leather over time. It is not my first leather work but it is my first seat so it is somewhat an experiment. I am hoping the bike is done by september so I can ride it to the vintage gp races out there.

Over the last week, I, rejetted from #120s to #110s. Bike was a bit rich so I figure I'll try these for a bit. Painted my headlight bucket, painted rear hub, laced & trued a new back wheel(still gotta mount & balance the tire!), had to build a truing rig, & tried out the helmet I got from Buckycat. Fits nice.

Looks good Bucky.  The smaller taillight makes a big difference.

Changing the oil is treating the symptoms. Sounds like what you should really do is to try to cure the ailment. I leave mine open all the time and have NO problems with gas getting into the engine.

How does this happen?

I leave the petcock open once in a while and I will get a little fuel out of the overflows. I have had a float stick and seen gas coming out of the airbox, but I have not seen gas in the oil, that I know of.

one of the overflow tubes blocked. i yanked the carbs again and it's all squeaky clean in there

And this causes gas to flow down the intakes, through the valves (bad valves too?) on the pistons, through the rings and into the crank in suficent quantity to require an oil change...Interesting.

I don't bang, I cut.

Hope your banging was more effective.
