Stopped by the shop I get parts from and noticed a mint condition candy orange cb750 on the showroom floor. Vin plate stamped 4/71 I think, turns out its been at the shop since new in 71, never been fired up... Paint, chrome, clocks, seat, pipes all in show room condition, the odometer is 00001.7, it's unreal. I snapped a couple pics but forgot to get the vin and engine number, will be back in next month to warranty my front tire and will get the #'s and some more pics. It was a beauty.

It's lined up along the back wall with some beauties, nc30, gb500, the K1, 79 cb750 anniversary edition, rickman 750, cr750, cbx & that crazy 70's chopper with the Tracy body kit I posted a while ago. I love dropping in there, always leave wishing I was richer though.
Must be a nice minty K2.
It sure is, by the looks of it the gas tank has never had fuel inside of it. When I get a moment to get pics in photobucket I'll put some up.

Hard to believe (not that I doubt) even a few got left untouched with the way they were flying out the door back then...

On the other hand, you hear the stories of the bikes "lost" in some warehouse and still in the box?
Urban legend?

In preparation for a VJMC ride to Catho Bay pub tomorrow.
Topped up the oil in the forks of the 750F1. Checked the oil tank level. WT. Only just touching the bottom of the dipstick - when screwed in!? Added some more oil then ran the engine just in case it had drained into the engine. No difference. Topped it right up then ran the engine some more and then saw some oil drips on the floor. Uh-oh. Seems to be coming from the head/cylinder joint between 2 & 3. Has only done about 1000klms since rebuild. Looks like it needs to come out again. Bugger.

Urban legend?"

Haviing intimate knowledge (I was an afterhours set up flunkie at a high volume dealership, #3 in US) of how these bikes came crated, stored, stacked in warehouses and paperwork "lost" and owners often less than above board, I'd say every scenario of lost in a warehouse, existed and probably still exists. These guys are just now starting to die off and their loot will surface.

I've had a 'lost in the warehouse' bike.  1980 CB750F, had 6 miles on it, never had gas, or started.  It was the Honda Canada showbike from that year.  Went across the country and ended up in the Vancouver warehouse.  Bought it in 1987, and got a full warranty. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I know I know, pics or it didn't happen. Here you go, I believe the story I got from the service manager as I know a bit of the local history of the shop etc...

Excuse the phone pics, didnt have my digi on me.

I've posted these before but they're all in the show room with the K2, love dropping in just to see these beauties.

The 750 wth the tracy body kit has a big bore kit, the shop is in built it back in the day. I always forget to snap pics of the super mint CBX behind it.

Well winter here is the real deal in Michigan. Go to the shop and fill the wood burner ,Shovel some snow , empty a mousetrap or two and head home when it starts getting warm or make your wife another home made apple pie. Yummy----Think I will weigh about xxxKG whatever that is in metric before winter is over because I like to cook also. I think some are for sale but you won't like the prices, haha. I inquired about the cb750 wth the tracy body and the asking price was 8G's or so. You know the saying, for the right price anything is for sale.

I really enjoyed that Eric, though he missed the verse that goes, "having sex with their sisters and bashing their wives, country bumpkins can survive" I guess he must have edited that one out? Anyway, great clip mate, thanks for sharing! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well the temps dropped around 45 deg F overnight, thank God, you could fry an egg in my arse crack! Anyway, after 5 days of staying out of the heat, I was able to get back to my CB750 "makeover".

All the parts I painted last Monday and Tuesday were ready for rebuilding:

Before I pulled it all apart, I thought I'd take one last pic of the way it was:

My electric/hydraulic engine lifter is a handy device as I don't have a centre stand and can't fit one due to the Yoshi pipe:

With the refurbished GL1000 front end installed, Daytona bars and new seat, it's starting to look like a bike again!

Those old GL1000 brakes look funky, and from memory, worked pretty well too.

Tomorrow I have to take the wife out for lunch, but before I do that I'll hook up the brakes and the air lines for the S&W fork kit, and start re-connecting the electrics. Interestingly it looks like the CB750 idiot light panel/handlebar clamp will fit the GL1000 top triple, so that might save me some messing about. Hmmnnn, now to contemplate my booze cabinet....... ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

That's no good Georg, can you weld it and re-drill it? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Ha ha, well I left that up to my son mate, I had some left over candy paint and he was keen to paint something, and for a first attempt, he did great. He's done another one for me which I need to seal, but when that's done I'll install it, everyone who's seen it in the flesh think it's excellent and wonder why I haven't installed it yet? Obviously they don't realise how lazy I am.......... ;D

Ha ha, we had 4 days of temps ranging from 105 - 115 deg F Ron, it was almost a religious experience for me mate, I don't think I could handle swimming in the fiery lake, so I better start repenting! ;D
