Got my new brakes and rear set mounted. If only the winter would end so I could try how they work.

johsch, what rear brake setup did you use with the spoked rear wheel??

Roller coaster day....started out good, took inventory on all the parts I've received over the past week: springs, bearings, ss spokes, cables, brake parts...check

So, decide to work on the forks and get them apart and find the lower pipe broken into pieces. WTF??

Have you seen this? How could it happen?? Had proper amount of oil, all bolts tight, nothing else looks odd.

Does the allen bolt thread in to there, the bottom of the damper rod right? Could have impacted it with a high torque one? Just guessing

The SHS screws in the bottom, it is broken on the top.

Had a little knocking at idle... so I adjusted the tappets + cam chain tensioner and vacuumed synched my carbs. Now all i hear is a sweet sweet purrrrrrrrr

Still cleaning up the hardware, ran out of 500 grit paper. Probably a good break, been using too much elbow grease.

Pulled the twins out of the garage into the sun shine and got them running. Will give each one a new battery, a set of plugs, carb sync, valve clearance check and tune up. Lots of fun! Cliff.

Installed head on the F engine for good.

OK, not true. Installed the head and realized I did not check if the 2 O-rings are in place - they always stayed there, but I did not want to take the chance so I pulled it off again.

Long story short, the o-rings were there, happy as ever, but would you assemble an engine with a shred of doubt?

Head is installed, torqued, ready for towers.

, thinking of all the work I have to do so I can ride again this year, limping it by I'm over, time to fix if winter would warm up into at least the 30s, I have no shed or garage

Vacuum synched the carbs and fitted new coil for 2&3 as the leads had degraded so much where they enter the coil, coil 1&4 is fine though, bike runs great!

got fixed the forks vith oil..and cut new threds to the air screv on the caliber..so now the yamaha are komplet ready for spring

Beautiful, how do you like that pipe. I've been thinking of grabbing a pipe from motogp werks, they look so sharp in stainless steel. Did you have to do any major tuning or jetting?

Make-It-Look-New-And-Brag-About-It Day: Picked and installed a new K8 tank with blue stripes, a new F2 chain guard, new rear fender, tail light, bracket, license plate frame, new fork ears, new fork garnish and emblem, new clutch and ignition cover, new tappet hole caps, a few new bolts and nuts here and there, finalized the dual-disc front brake setup. I collected NOS parts for the past 30 years, and I figured it’s time to have fun with them.
