Happy Birthday Georg, Prost! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Got a call about a 1974 750 Monday and wife and I went to take a look today. Poor bikes odometer that was in a box only showed a little over 9,000. Had original title from his brother from new who had done some mods also. He went gung ho for a bit to build a bobber and cut up the frame after stripping off all the bits. Tore down the whole top end of engine with all the parts in a box  :P Tank badges fill and some bad bodywork on the dents etc.
Got enough parts and pieces around and other junk and not interested in building a bobber but I was able to put a pile of stock goodies together and make an offer. I left enough parts and coached him how to sell the rest to a potential "builder". He will actually have the potential now to make more $$ than before.
Anybody see anything in my van worth a darn   ;)

Those pipes look very clean 8) Did the guy know what he had and charge you accordingly or was he a guy that was bent on making a bobber and pitching all those nice parts?

I tried to be fair and not steal them. He has 3 young kids and the project for him just got to be a little much. Think with what I offered and paid and with what he still has left he will realize more money than he was originally asking. Being fair pays off in the long run. That's how bikes end up finding you.

Early this morning (before heading out the door to work) I replaced my original-rebuilt-with-new-seals (but not holding internal pressure) brake master cylinder with a new David Silver Spares assembly.  The total time to swap it out, including moving the mirror, was only a few minutes.  I then filled the reservoir, actuated the lever several times to bleed the air out, and wow what a firm lever!  That was the best 10 minute motorcycle project that I can remember doing in a long time, I can't wait to see how it feels on the road, once the rain lets up a bit.

Finally got the last piston circlips in, changed the cam chain, and put the jugs on my 450. 750 parts are getting ordered right now so you guys can look forward to more obvious questions  ;D ( I recently got a job at a honda/suzuki/can am dealership and the guys have been super helpful in teaching me things)

Yeah - sweet billet top triple - Joker parts?

There are some nice one's here too: http://cognitomoto.com/collections/clip-ons

What did I do FOR my bikes today? Got myself a 'lock up'.

Five minutes from home, four car garage size, very secure (heavy duty steel doors and locks everywhere) with built in workbenches just where I would put them.

Now I can keep all my tools, all my parts, all my spare riding gear, my CB450 Cafe Racer, my CR450 Hansen race bike project, the 250 Virago someone gave me (!!!) and anything else that turns up all under the one roof.

Leaving just the daily commuter (XJR1300SP) to take up space at home - civilised.

Put a new seal in the front brake caliper, bleed the air out and then tested, bad noise and realized I forgot to put one pad in a scratched the #$%* out of the front disc with the piston! Then I polished some more oxidization off the cases.
