This reminds me that its about time I did a change on my 350F. The bolt only screws into the case not the housing. It should just tap out, it could be just sticking on the O ring. Or is my memory getting a bit dim here?

Nope, that's correct Krusty, the hollow bolt is just a tight fit in the filter canister with the O ring in place. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Oooooh...my set of Lesters are gone too now :(

Oh well ;D I still have three 500/4 frames, two motors, a NOS Lester front, and enough parts to fill the rest in.  I'll make me another one after I'm done with the sandcast ;D ;D

Charged the battery, pumped up the tyres, fired it up, tweak of the carbys and sounds just great.  Off to work on the bike riding every day for a week  :). Good chance to blow the rust out of the pipes. Shame the weather is rain all week  :(. Looks like next weekend will be cleaning the beast.

Are you still over in the west Adam? The weather he's been crap for the last couple of weeks, but this week it'll be fine and warm all week, and into the weekend, which will be nice, I need to paint a couple more parts for Mike's K2, so that nice weather will save some drama's. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Took the FJ1200 in to Sportcycles for new front Metzler Marathon 120/70 x 17 to be fitted plus pink slip. Need to take it easy for a few ks till the release agent wears off. Up until now I've always had Dunlops which consistently gave me 17k & 15k klms front and rear respectively. Will be interesting to see how the Metzlers go for wear. Had a Metzler rear fitted a couple of months ago.

I've always hated Metzler tyres on BMW's Krusty, but the ones on my Triumph Rocket III have been great and after 11000 Km's they're still at least around 50%, which is odd because all the R3 guys told me I'd be lucky to get more than 5000 out of them?

I've got Dunlops on my 1TX and they'll need replacing soon, but I'll have to take whatever I can get due to the 16 inch wheels on it. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Yeah Terry, couldn't get a Dunlop 16 for the rear, that's why I went with the Metzler. Now I need to see how they work as a pair.

On friday on my ride home I found my front brake was stuck on and squealing for the last 1/4 of the ride. Got her home and I could barely push the bike into the garage, and had to undo the caliper bolts to unstick it...

Flushed the fluid out a few times (yay for speedbleeder!). Popped off the caliper and pads, and added silicone brake lube behind the pads and cleared out all the brake dust that had built up. I stupidly had not put assembly lube in when I did the calipers this winter. I also cut a shallow groove in the pads to hopefully aide in the anti-squealing. Then I spent wayyyyyyyyy too long trying to fiddle and fart to get the B pad set to the correct distance from the rotor. Difficult to get exact without the front wheel up, but went with 0.08" and it seems to be ok, just rolling it back and forth in the garage.

All that you've done is good and needed to be done. But dn't be surprised if its still not fixed.

The return hole in the MC reservoir is likely plugged at least partially and will need to be cleared. With a very fine wire. MAybe not but maybe.

That is perfectly clear. When I was pumping out the brakes I had the little spurts out of that hole. I haven't been out for a ride to test yet, and it had been working perfectly fine beforehand.
