walked into a bike shop near work.  never been in there before today.  mostly yami/kawa stuff.
asked if they had oil filter, air filter, and tappet orings for my 350F.
counter monkey looked at me funny, but decided to humor me.
Both of us were totally surprised, they had both filters. glad they had what they did.
O-rings will be here next week so i can complete my 3k tune.  ;D

...the old balls were younger than mine but more crunchy.

ROFL!!!  :D  :P

Hosted vintage bike night last night.  Had about 25 bikes and riders from the Chicago-land area in our back alley, leading to an eventual visit by the boys in blue.  But they were nice about it, just told us to keep it down and not stay too late.

We require photos to validate your story ;D

Oh yeah, got my new front and rear sprockets, will get at it a bit later after I do some fire wood deliveries for a friend who totaled his delivery truck last week.

Not what I did to my bike as much as what my bike did to me....if you are a member of VJMC, the latest issue of the magazine has a nice two page spread article about the Cleveland Cycle World show. Has some nice pictures of my bike and some of me in the booth. Thanks Marmalade !

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

once again i attempted to fix something not broken and made it worse. ugh. attempted to re-route my fuel lines due to a (possible) high-rev fuel starvation issue. while they were off i decided to clean them out and in i thaught i was being smart by filling the carbs with spray carb cleaner and blowing them out with compressed air.  stuck floats and malarchy ensued....ack!

Tried to start her up after a 6 month tear-down. She tried to fire and then the battery, which I just charged, died. Ordered a new battery from Budget Batteries- sealed lead acid for $52 including shipping. Waiting with bated breath. (sigh)

Hey im just a few miles from you! Are you part of chivinmoto? Maybe ill see ya riding around some time, when my bike works that is.

Washed the '73. Glued some leather to the back of my bags where they chafe against the shock. Ordered carb kits and brake pads for my Virago 500. Bought some primer to paint my tank with.

Well I got back from 3 weeks in Tasmania last night and with a portion of my new found tax free Army Reserve pay wealth, I ordered a new 4 into 1 pipe for my K2/F2 "special", ($735.00) and did some work tonight on the K6 tank that I repaired and POR-15'd before I went away.

I bondo'd up some dings tonight, and hopefully, I'll get some paint on the tank and sidecovers over the weekend, before I go away for another week. Rattle cans of course, but I found some candy blood red and candy green gold laying around, so I'll see what I can do with them. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Ha ha, you can have that sea-faring sh1t to yourself mate, I get sea-sick on a wet lawn! I did sail to Tassie and back actually as I had a truck full of stores and equipment to take over there, and I was watching out for Chinese coal ships mate, I wonder where their navigational instruments are made?

Probably the same place I bought the dodgy speedo/tach from on EBay, no wonder the buggers keep getting "geographically embarrassed"! ;D

I synced the carbs for the first time...it ought to be easier next time, right?  They were way out of sync, I'm glad my uncle spotted me his manometer. :D

Also, I put gas in it and rode a couple miles to see if there was any improvement (the butt dyno says yes and so does the clutch - guess that's next!)

Fitted OOS (old, old stock) rear tail light unit and grab bar - bought both from e-bay and had them shipped at an alarming cost which I will need to hide from the little woman. I have a K3 CB750 which I bought a year ago and always felt that the rear end was shapeless and lacking something (just like the missus really). I worked out had a K1 taillight on the K3 guard. So found a nice K2 unit on e-bay and also went for the rear grab rail also. Just for looks really. It fills out the picture - if u compare pic 1 with pic 2, it looks better from the rear. It was an arse of a job. Found I need new winker stems, rubber mounting bits and bolts and I have those on order from David Silver. Meantime, I have rigged it up with an old set of front winker stems (too long) and used some old clutch lifter tool bolts to hold the lot on. Most of a day to get all this nutted out and operational. But I like the result. These grab rails are popular on e-bay and I had 2 bidding wars before scoring this set for US$43 + a lot of shipping $$$.
Hope ya all are keeping upright...
