Took a lovely hour ride up to a lake. Bike was running really well, although it felt a little "pogo stick" bouncy on the front end when I was on the highway. Got to the lake and enjoyed the scenery with my wife. Came back to the bike to find the electrical sidecover missing. I really hope someone is enjoying one OEM sidecover.... It would have made more sense for them to take both of them.
Sorry about that. Could it have blown off?   :(


Quite possibly, but it's nice to think that someone else has a purpose for my cover, rather than thinking of it all lonely on the side of the road.


MickB - I like riding with her as well, but she's still kinda scared to ride. I need to find a low backrest for her. Something that doesn't look too ugly.

I also need a low back/buttrest. I have an original backrest/luggage rack but it is too large to have on permanently for the odd time wife wants to ride. She grew up riding riding on her dad's Harley with a backrest, so is more comfortable that way.

Anyone have suggestions?

put on new tank and side covers and took a ride around  Copenhagen Airport, we have a nice little
heat wave here, 25-27 celcius/77-80 F,

This is south Scandinavia 8), we have around 90 F for only 6-7 days on a normal sommer

...it is not regular green paint! it is special paint! over night it tranforms to pure chrome. no kidding!

Just replaced some horrible Red Wing shocks with a new set of Ikons. I'm not sure if the Red Wings ever actually moved, stiff as a board. Now these Ikons are SWEET! Lowest spring setting and #2 damping setting makes for an incredible ride. Will experiment with them some more. Overall though, worth every penny spent, and Dave at Ikon got these shipped out fast. I also got a rebuild kit for the Koni's on my KZ900.  :D

Yup. Banged on it for the better part of an hour. Used the same bit on the other two bolts that came out after a few blows. Without it, I wouldn't have even gotten those off.

Install 8 new valve adj. cap O-rings on my 1976 CB550F.
Go for ride.

Fixed oil leak at valve adj. caps .  :)

Tonight I taught my bike that it is owned by a f**kin' idiot.  I went for a late night ride with a friend who has a '73 350 Four and she wanted to try out my '76 550F so we swapped and rode out along the Toronto lake shore for half an our or so and stopped for a coffee.  After chatting in the parking lot and deciding where to head next I got back on my bike and she got on hers.

I decided to kick start mine because, as I mentioned, I'm a dip#$%*.  I swung my leg over, kicked up my side stand and gave a good solid kick. Nothing. WTF? Kick again. Nothing. This bike fires up like a dream, every time. As I went to lean it back to the left it slowly dawned on me the side stand was in the (duh) UP position and I ever so (not quite) gently laid the ol' Honda on its side and busted the clutch lever.

Turns out my friend, whose ignition key is on the side under her tank (as opposed to mine, on the dash) is used to turning her bike off with the kill switch and did the same with mine (I've never touched my kill switch, I always use the key - diff'rent strokes.) So, the moral of the story is that I'm dumb but luckily such dumbness (among other life experiences not always brought on by said dip#$%*tery) has given me the opportunity to drive many manual transmission vehicles with many different (often non-existent) clutch configurations.  I was able to get home none the worse for wear and tomorrow I'll try to find a new clutch lever in town so I don't have to wait too long to ride again.

That's a great little scooter mate, I didn't know they made an Amigo scoot? I had an Amigo mini bike when I was a kid, it was the most reliable bike I've ever owned, I reckon? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Been there, done that... once in a parking lot, the other was wayyyyy worse. I was kicking over to impress some badass Hardly dudes. Forgot to hold in the brake as I kicked and I leveraged the bike forward and upwards as I came off the kicker. Rolled forward, collapsed the side stand, laid Rhonda down. No damage and picked her right up, but DAMN embarrassing! Always hold the brake now when kicking. :P ;D
