Nice work mate, well done! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Finished installing the wire harness on the K3. Everything connected works! I need a headlight connector though.
Working on the Hack A Week video now.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Frame is pretty rusty, will need paint or powder.  Haven't checked compression yet, if very low, it will get an 836 kit.  One side cover is cracked, needs new covers and Honda Racing Red on all bodywork with new upholstery.
The Kerker is coming off, a MotoGP is going on with a clean set of carbs on the shelf and a Henry Abe Breadbox.
Wheels will get rebuilt and have Avons, would like to change the swingarm and put a fork brace on the front, no fender.
Should be done in a week.....ha!

Front wheel back together... torqued axle bolt to 45#. (this photo was before I did final torque on the disk nuts, that's why the tongues aren't bent over yet)

All assembled!

Now I just need that brake line, which I am picking up next Saturday. And I also ordered a new set of aluminum headlight brackets.

Front end restoration 2016 will be complete next Saturday. Then I can ride again! winter hasn't been much of a hassle this year.

Rode it finally. even if it was just around the neighborhood a couple of times.  I had it in a disassembled state for quite a while while replacing the fork springs and seals.  I installed progressive style shocks from vintage cb750 and new seals.  Thought I had something wrong until learning from the forum I had the fender mounts between the caliper arm instead of outside it.

I will say that its an amazing difference between the old stock shocks to these.

Cleaned out both shop bays and went to Harbor Freight to buy an Ultrasonic Cleaner. Then used it to clean the carbs from a VFR750 that I am working on. Why I didn't buy one years ago is beyond me? The cleaner not the VFR(I did have an Interceptor years ago). This is a pristine 1986 750 that sat for a year with corn cob gas in it...Larry

Can you post a pic or a link Larry? I want one too, but I don't want to piss around with a little cleaner designed for cleaning your mom's dentures, I want one big enough to dump a complete bank of carbs in. Cheers, Terry. ;D

New emulsion tubes installed(were backordered), tweaked the pilots(back to 38's). New carb to intake boots installed. Going for a ride shortly...

Oh and ordered a new LiFePO4 battery...the one I've been bragging about(Ballistic EVO2-8) no longer holds a resting charge of 13.2 volts and the voltage drops rapidly under load off charge. This is it's forth year and third bike it's been installed on, so I'm pretty happy. Going to give the Scorpion Li a try...

Cheers,

Kenzo, which carbs on your F? Where did you source the emulsion tubes?

Not big enough for an entire bank Terry.  One carb at a time.  It is the Harbor Freight $80 model, less than 70 with 20% off-worked well and fit my needs.  I saw one on ebay big enough to hold an entire bank, not sure if it is available down under...Larry

I just bought one last week also Larry, cost $63.99 + tax. Here is a pic for Terry. Have only used it so far for my wifes jewels but am going to try it on some CX500 carbs for starters. What kind of cleanser are you using ? See simple green and the purple stuff is popular. An excellent restorer friend of mine suggested I try this product called Awesome from Dollar General at full strength. He swears at it er er I mean by it.   ;)  Wish it were bigger, yes I mean the cleaner !!
