Went for a ride yesaterday, clear cold but sunny.. bike was a pig to start, low battery..
Might go for a sin today, but nowhere to go to...

Yesterday in traffic, a guy rolls his window down, and says, My girl says your bike should be Red!.. I ask Why is that?, and as I say it I realize... my gray beard.. He says, Cause then you would look like Santa Claus... ;D

I mocked up my front end to see how the polished parts looked against the gold tubes.
I wonder if I should polish the tubes too?

WOOWEE!  That is pretty IC.

thank you, humans.
 I've spent $80 so far.
rotors
trees
clipons
shock tubes
axle
19 harley wheel
hopefully the whole thing will be under $200 when I'm done.

today I sat on my frame and dreamed a little dream.
everything I say is pure speculation and
I have no idea what I'm talking about  ._.

I've decided against the 21 inch idea, it's just not sporty enough. but my friend is still working on his 21 inch bobber. (slowly)
I go on ebay and look at items that were posted in the wrong category or look at box lots with parts I need in them.
I got the fork tubes for $10.50
the last deal I got went for 12 bucks and had a full 97-2000 gsxr600 wiring harness with coils, 2 rotors, 2 rear sprockets, 2 front sprockets, various brake lines, and some turn signals.
I'll sell the parts I don't need to fund more of the fork swap.

I'm the thriftiest em-effer you'll ever see.

when the wife and daughter granddaughter went to church this morning, i took a quick spin around the block. it started raining and i got a shock when i rolled the throttle really easy in 4th going around an easy bend and it broke loose. the part throttle running is just a million times better than it was before this most recent teardown.

Well I pulled the engine out of my F2, check this:  http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=63272.msg689153#msg689153

Also, I tested a cheap tool that I found at my local hardware store, an oil change device designed specifically for 4 stroke lawn mowers. You see, I've always hated draining the oil tank on my CB750's, so I thought this thing might be just the ticket.

I'm giving it the big thumbs up, it was easy to use, and worked perfectly. It sucked all the oil out of my oil tank, and it was then very easy to dump that oil into a container. Cheap, simple to operate, and no mess to clean up afterwards, brilliant! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

its only good when she builds one her self......... 4 months into my girls bike and she only comes to visit twice a month.  but she loves shopping for stuff for it! spent all day looking at signals, tail lights and bars. :)
guess who?

Chopped on my front fender, and cut off the front turn signal mounts... Going to Wally World to get some flat black paint for the wheels and whatever else I feel like blacking out!

Wheels came out great, used Rustoleum textured black. Did the fender in a glossy black as well as my headlight ears(headlight bucket is same color as my frame). With a set of polished triple trees from Industrial Cafe, my front end is gonna look freakin sweet! Still waiting on my tail... Should be here next week. Pretty soon I will be putting everything back together, just as soon as I can clean and paint this motor!

I will post pics of my progress, just got to get some new batteries for my camera!

Took my out engine today as well.  With surprisingly few scratches and scrapes.  (To me or the engine...)
Thanks to the broken case at the drive sprocket this engine won't be going back in.

My lil bro and I were well on our way to finishing the 2up seat pan / side covers (all 1 piece made of hand formed steel ) and the welder's whip decided it had buzzed it's last bead..... so we knocked off for the day with the pan and right side welded and left side shaped and mocked up.... and we also built a nice little aluminum battery box/electronics panel... pics will be posted asap

Bout a week ago, I drug out the CBX, GPZ and the SL350 and rode them (one at a time) down to the town square and back. THE SL didn't even get a 2nd glance, the GPZ got a few looks, but the CBX got the most attention. ;) I don't know whether I'm more cold natured or if the bikes are! ??? ::)

Pulled both wheels and front forks. Disassembled forks. Pulled off damaged muffler. Started the rebuild of the mighty Magna Deluxe.

Yesterday I sourced some cheap K&N oil filters locally.  Today I only stared at it longingly.

I left it in the garage and took the car to work. It's snowing out there. You gotta see how Portlanders deal with 3" of snow. It's absolutely hilarious.  ;D ;D ;D

you should try riding a motorcycle around them... i had to ride from SW downtown to N portland in this, and man were people scary. the riding in snow part wasn't nearly as bad as fearing the cagers.

Opened the shed, looked lovingly at her then realising that the 120kph winds would make riding suicidal I closed the shed up again, better luck tomorrow. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Ha ha, well at least you had Cyril the cross eyed ram to cuddle up to Hushy! ;D

I'd ordered some new exhaust gaskets for my Triumph Rocket III from Melbourne Triumph, (10 bucks RRP each was BS, they gave them to me for 5 bucks each because one outlet had them on "clearance" and I thought that was too bloody expensive also, I think ebay has spoiled me........) so yesterday I rode the big beast the 20 or so freeway miles into the city, and it was so friggin' hot (close to 90 deg F) I didn't wear my jacket.

While I love not wearing a jacket, I also feel very vulnerable too, especially when some turkey in a beat up old Jap tin box merged into my lane, even though my bike was probably bigger than that POS, the old fart at the wheel obviously didn't see me, or didn't care to see me, so that just made me feel even more insecure.

While waiting for my parts, I browsed thru the jackets and found a genuine Triumph "Rochester" "Mesh" jacket, designed specifically for hot summer conditions. It's made from Cordura mesh with CE approved body armour on the elbows, back, shoulders etc. Triumph have apparently dumped this line, so it was half price, at around $175.00 US, so I bought it. Here's a similar one on EBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Triumph-Rochester-Mesh-Jacket-Size-US-Mens-48-Euro-58_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1c0d65c19aQQitemZ120483856794QQptZApparelQ5fMerchandise

I put it on for the ride home and was really happy. It's super light, and even sitting still I can feel the air flowing thru it, and at 60+ MPH, it's positvely refreshing!. The ride home was great, and actually better than the ride in just with my T shirt flapping in the breeze, and the long sleeves helped prevent any further skin deterioration, ha ha! The sad thing is that I'd done the "buy it now" thing on EBay that morning for a new leather "Brando" jacket as my 20 year old jacket seems to have "shrunk"? Weird, or what?

Today it was close to 100 degrees so I stayed in my nice cool rumpus room watching cable TV on my 46 inch plasma TV, pondering the plight of the poor and homeless, before I drifted off into an alcohol fuelled nap, that lasted until dinner time...........  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

The rebuild starts...I promised myself that it will be done and ready to ride by April and that includes the inspection process by the OSHP.
