Drooled over my new jewels tonight!

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

knocked the bearings into the front hub, opened a beer(im on holidays),knocked the bearings into the rear hub aswell, assembled the rear brake shoes onto the backing plate,im a little dissapointed with the aftermarket rear shoe set that says on the box not to modify these shoes though!the thickness where the friction action at the cam takes place was about a millemetre too thick and wouldnt fit,so i filed it to fit, then the retaining plate covered the split pin holes fully so i filed that aswell to fit, maybe genuine next time,i bought two sets though.

1975 CB550: De-rusted the tank.  Started fitting new throttle cables.  The bike has PD carbs, and the new pull cable seems a bit short.  Can't find the old one, it's about 12 degrees F in the garage, family is arriving for the holiday. . . had hoped to fire up the engine just to hear it, but I guess that'll have to wait.  Grrrrrrrrrr...........

Started assembling the parts pile for my future 750K3 build.  Frankenstuff side covers, powder coated rims, GL forks, and ordered preload adjusters from Voxonda.  My christmas is going to be great, the budget for the family got somewhat smaller though. LOL

"69" seems popular..................  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Got the stock mounts cut off the latest gas tank, got it positioned for final mounting but I want a couple of other people to sit on it before I weld the mounts down.

Cleaned two more connecting rods.  Cleaned the frame some more and also removed the head stock bearing races.  One step closer to powder coat.  Still need to the get the fork lowers separated but its giving me fits.

put the forks back together, assembled the master cylinder and hooked it up on the bench to pump the piston out of the caliper, came out a lot easier than i thought, sand blasted the caliper and a few other bits and painted them, another package from silvers arrived,im waiting on the swing arm bushes that were wrongly supplied to arrive,im a bit stopped now without them, took the top of a beer.

Took my youngest out for her first motorcycle ride today!  :)  She had a blast and wants to learn to ride!!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Stopped in at the shop, and wished it a Merry Christmas.  Just need to get the HID wiring sorted, and sync the carbs, then its time to start cleaning off all those finger prints, and polish.  Also dropped off the 530 X-ring for the future 750K3 build.  The parts pile is growing.

Polished the connections last night.  Put the rubbers on the  cleaned and painted battery box and mounted it along with the cleaned and painted tool tray.

Soooo Industrial!

Disassembled the forks and put them in a bucket.  What a smell that old oil is.

Time to clean the lowers to get them to powder coater.
