Cleaned the bolts and washers and used them to mount the electrics in the triangle on the battery tray and industrial bracket.  Time to hang around the wife!
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Took the traditional christmas ride. 28 degrees and light snow but it was worth it.  8)

Reassembled the air box.  I had it apart to repaint the mounting brackets.

Fixin ta try my last pharmacy for some wintergreen oil for the front carb boots.  They all look at me like I am crazy.

Added more locks to the storage container after finding some f'n tweeker had sawn off a rivet, popped the door and rummaged around. Thank God all he did was stack crap on the bikes while shopping for shiny #$%* to sell for more meth. Yeesh!

Got the harness plugged together late last night.  No headlight and pulling in the clutch lights up the brake light.  Got some figuring out to do.  No hot or warm spots and I now have a functional fuse block.

Went to Hobby Lobby to pick up some paint for the emblems.  Picked up a pan from the thrift store to simmer the boots and fuel lines.  Picked up 4oz of wintergreen oil from the local town pharmacy.  She pulled the two bottle to her chest and asked what I was going to do with all that wintergreen oil.  Like my reason needed to be approved first, lol.

Now time for some Halo Reach on the 61"!

I have a new-to-me '75 CB400F. It hasn't run in 1.5 years. I picked her up last week from a guy who owned her since '77. These flames have been on the bike since at least '77, but the paint looks pretty tired in person.

That pic is 3 years old. She slipped into decay during that time. I managed to get her running on 1&4 using some new plugs after putting some 2-stroke oil into the cylinders to unstick the rings (had very low compression). I also had to clean the bowls and jets. That was that.

Today, I installed new 5-ohm Dyna coils, new wires, new points and condensers. She fired right up on all four and purred. Smoke died down once the 2-stroke oil burned off.

I can't wait to get her riding again. I plan on starting a thread in "Project Shop" as well. Waiting on UPS for clutch cable and a few brake parts.

Testors.  Get the very fine microbrushes.  The fine brushes get big when you start painting.  Was using a magnifying glass and had to stop using it because it got too big, lol.  I could not focus correctly on the wings.  The sides were easy on the diamonds.

It is hard to do the script smooth and not look cheap.

Finished the electrical.  Everything works and all the bulbs are brighter.  Woohoo

Cleaned four of the 8 front boot straps.  Four more to go.

Cleaning the boots and fuel lines getting them ready to simmer in wintergreen oil.

They had some other stuff there other than the testors.  Can't remember the name but it was more expensive.  Hope the testors holds for a while.

Welded in cross bars on each side of the V for the battery tray mounting, welded in a new reinforcing strap across the rear shock mounts where the bridge used to reside, located the tank, found stock to make new front tank mounts, worked on seat pan design to incorporate rear tank mount into it.

Orders tires, ordered brake pads, ordered brake bleeders, ordered a double banjo, ordered a buffer, wheels, and compound from Caswell.

Sanded front hub (to 400p) in prep for polishing, sanded shift/chain cover for same purpose.

Not a bad day.

Boots came out of the mix nice and soft.  They swelled just like I needed them.  No leaks will be coming from them now.  I just put the drain lines in.  They were so hard they were breaking when putting them on the float bowls.  They pinch nice now and I don't have to buy more from Honda!

Yesterday I gave my Triumph Rocket III a bath, and while I was at it I did the same for Goldie, my CB750K2. I'd removed the Honda's battery a month or two ago and had it on my solar charger, so I installed it and fired it up, and took it for a quick ride to circulate the oil.

For some reason my starter motor stopped engaging, it's whirring away, but not engaging, so I guess I'll have to pull the alternator cover and check the starter clutch, unless anyone here knows how to fix it without disassembly? what a PITA!

Anyway, I took the Triumph out for a ride, it was a great day, warm and sunny, and despite the much advertised Police "blitz", I only saw one cop car pulling into a McDonalds store, more intent on chowing down than catching crooks, methinks.

Lot's to do today, machining a remote oil filter setup, and painting a tank for another member, but it's gonna be hot tomorrow (100 deg plus) so I better get it done so I can take tomorrow off. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
