Learned that when the jets are tight, they are tight, even if theres a whole lot of threads showing.

Don't get a wrench and continue to tighten.

Anyone have some extra jet they want to get rid of?

The threads in the carb body are still good, I have to now order some new jets.

Any one have any idea where i can get a set, of #105? Or even a set, so I can have some to try to dial in the exhaust and pods?

Yep Larry, did not crack them, lucky me.

Thanks for the points fire, not necessarily going for that.

Still, if anyone reading this has any ideal where I can get a set of #105 jets for a cb750k5?

Thanks

Jack

...check the Jet needle, I think You have to renew them too.
You can screw the jets out of the emulsion tubes so You do not Have to buy new jets but You have to get new emulsion tubes.

Good luck...Georg

the jet screws into that tube. Get a wrench and put on the tube, then unscrew the jet with a good flat wide blade screw driver...

I think Georg is saying you probably twisted the slide needles when the tubes was overtightened, so there is a good chance you need the emulsion tubes and new needles. In order to check the needles you will have to remove the slide. I don't believe the rebuild kits come with the emulsion tubes but some do come with new needles...Larry

installed my freshly rebuilt carbs and put her back together. After a few minutes fiddling with the idle screw and a little choke she came right to life :)

Cleaned the carbs a bit on Brownie today.  She felt varnishy.  Need to order some pilot screw washers.

Yup, there are four of them shoved in between the cylinders and frame.  Those things are a nightmare.  Me loves the SOHC carbs!

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

The portion with the flat head on it comes out of the portion with the hex head (spanner wrench) portion.  The upper part that is bent is the needle jet, a.k.a. emulsion tube.  That is what you need.

Learn something new everyday. I did separate the jets, and yes, I sure do need new tubes. Needles look fine, even when tightened and bent like that they still moved freely, amazingly enough.

Fire are you looking to sell whats in the pictures? If so, what are you looking to get?

Thanks

Jack

Hi Jack,

...sorry, I still need them. I can ask a good friend may be he has some for sale.
Where are You from ? I am asking because I am from Germany and if You are from the us it would be cheaper to buy the tubes from the us without extra shipping costs from Germany and loooooong waiting time   ;)

Have a good one...Georg
