How do you pull them apart Georg? I want to refurbish my K0 speedo and tach. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Started the used motor I got for my K5 for the first time today.
It fired right up and actually sounded pretty darn good.
I completely rebuilt the carbs so it still needs a sync and I think I got the Dyna too far advanced.
Unfortunately the new cable didn't fix the sluggish/sticky tach.
I'll probably pull the tach off the K3 and use it for now.
Also gotta go back and check the connections since it didn't appear to be charging.
It's never gonna end...

Looks like that loose valve core was my problem. The rear tire seems to be holding air just fine.

Went on a 70 mile round trip to a friends house to help him work on one of his AMC Eagles, one of which he bought from me years ago.  I had my GPS hooked up to the bike.  I had mounted the GPS mount in the spot on my Cycle Sound stereo enclosure where the antenna used to be.  Worked out pretty good. :)

Got the 350's front signals working again-bad ground. Too much tinkering with out running. Not enough juice to start. Trickle charger connected now.

Put the left side grip on that I bought in Carson City,Nv. yesterday. My throttle grip took a dive Friday as I was doing my first leg of the rally. I removed the offending grip and wrapped my throttle sleeve with duct tape which was acceptable. Rode 50 miles from Fernley to Carson City,Nv. to a bike shop looking for a new chain for Fat Matt. We had to go another 50 or so mile round trip to Reno & back but they fixed him up with the chain and I had a new throttle grip. Like I said earlier....I put the matching grip on the left side and went for a 50 mile run in beautiful weather. Always carry duct tape on a long putt and I also learned that a roll of electrical tape doesn't hurt also!!!! (saved Sean's a$$ out in the desert!!!!)

Finally got the engine for one of my 400Fs back in the frame tonight.
I bought this bike about 9 years ago.  When I got it, it ran, but the cam chain made a horrible noise and couldn't be adjusted.  I pulled the engine to tear it down to fix/replace the adjuster.   Had some kids, changed some jobs, moved, etc....things just kept getting in the way . But tonight, I have a rebuilt engine (new bearings, rings, seals; everything within spec) sitting in the frame.

Now to get the rest of th ebits in place (cars, starter, etc), complete the rebuild of the front brake system, get some new suspension bits, and I'm back on the road...just in time to start the cafe build on CB400F #2 :)

got my brother to convert and upload the video today. This was shot by another co op member last month when my bike died. But I was there yesterday working on it all day getting an engine swapped. I was a little nervous that I would look like I was about to burst into tears during my interview.

Congrats!  I suddenly don't feel so bad about it taking a year to get my motor swapped & running.

Bought some new oem parts for my 72 CB350F, rear helmet decal, oem turn signal relay and a new original Yuasa clear case battery like came in the bike in 72. I also bought a good used tool tray lid, headlight case and 72 owners manual for the same bike. On a near perfect bike I don't mind paying for nos to tweak it back to perfect condition. The helmet decal is hanging loose, the turn relay is the later round version, the tool tray lid has a melt in the center, the headlight case has a small scrape and the owners manual was missing. I got a near mint 73 owners manual and this 72 isn't as nice but correct for the build date. I will still be on the lookout for a new correct manual. If I ever show the bike, sticking the new original clear case battery in the box will be a nice touch.............and that is what I have been doing.

Put my CB650 on its center stand and set out to tear apart the rear end.  Pulled the rear tire and inspected/lubed the center axle and bearings.  Also inspected/cleaned the rear break (over 75% left on each pad), drive chain, and rear sprocket.  Interestingly, this chain has no master key - it's an infinite.  For now both the chain and sprocket are in good shape so I won't be replacing any time soon.  Also adjusted the throttle cables - had too much slack.

After I had it back together I took it for a quick 15 minute run.  I really do love this bike!

Today I pushed the KZ750 out into the hall so I could get some work done on the CB650.  Got the clutch lever dry fitted and started on cleaning the new front master cylinder.  I also stopped by Western Hills Honda and paid off the CB360T.  I didnt bother to take delivery in the rain.  I ordered a real shop manual for the CB650 and some hardware for the clutch lever and master cylinder.  I have to go back out and work for 5 days or so but I will get to do some wrenching tomorrow.  I have the steering stem bearings, new tach and speedo cables coming.  Im goin to wait until I have the front end back together before I order the throttle and clutch cables.  I think those two and the brake line will need to be shortened to accomadate the low rise bars.

Rode to work am and pm.  After work this morning I stopped and filled up the tank at $4.08 a gallon.  Later this afternoon I see that the price went up to $4.30 a gallon.  At these prices I can't afford to drive my CJ-7.  Gotta get with it and do a proper tune up and carb sync so I can get better gas mileage with my bike tho.  I did buy a set of vacuum gauges off eBay the other day.  Now I need to decide on what I want to do about the ignition, new point plate with points & condenser or go with a Pamco electronic unit.

I got my rebuilt rear master cylinder in from silverback on Saturday and hooked it up. My brake pedal isn't coming all the way back up on it's own though. I can push the brake down, then it still has resistance on it when I take my foot off of it. I can pull it back up with my toe, but I'd like to fix it right. Do you think it could just be the adjustments or the spring? I didn't get to spend too much time because it started raining and I don't have a shop.
