You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
 Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
 What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

After four weeks of #$%*ty weather and life conspiring against me, the sun finally came out and I was able to go for a two hour ride last night.  It's amazing how fast a bike feels after you've been off it for a while.  Tapped the exhaust on a couple of corners, and squeaked the tirea bit on a light.  Felt so goooooood

Been a little chilly here the last two days, 38F and 36F at 5am.  Hasn't stopped me ridin' to work tho.  Been ridin' every day since the school year started 5 weeks ago.  Rain or shine. ;D ;D 8) 8)

Stripped the k1 down to the frame.  Done for the season and going in for a full stock restoration.  Hopefully done by the end of the winter.

Twas a beautiful morning, sunny and warm, Cliff (Maduncle) was coming over to collect a set of carbs and to check out my bikes, so I dragged both of my Cb's out and gave them a wash. It's been spring for the last couple of weeks but we got some #$%*ty cold weather over the last few weeks, so today was my first chance to get them cleaned up. I had to do some chores then take the family to a movie (Fright Night, great scary Vampire fun) but tomorrow, I ride! Cheers, Terry. ;D

installed the single mount and speedo, new bars, cables and then disass on the forks.  had to drill one fully stuck allen out.  whew!  stinky fluid got stank all in the shop!

Changed the oil for the first time on the recently-resurrected K5.
This was a ~6000 mile motor that sat for many years.
Dropped the pan, didn't see anything too disturbing, a little gunk that I had expected to shake loose.
Pulled the filter. (miraculously not spilling a drop on the Kerkers!)
Again, didn't see anything in the oil I didn't expect.
Reinstalled the pan. (And WTF is up with that one 10mm bolt with no clearance for a socket? You know the one I mean.)
Loaded a fresh filter and refilled with fresh Castrol 20-50.

Then I watched it rain.....for the first time since April or May.

After the all-too-brief rain shower I took the bike up the road and got it inspected.
One of the guys at the shop was just drooling over the bike.

Rode home and now I have to polish the bike because the road was wet and OMG! its dirty!  :o :)

got my cbx home..it are a 78 august month..so one of the first in denmark..have to thek the frame numbers..does not feel heavier to drive then my 550
but power starts first at 5000 rpm..the old 8 valve 550 pulls from bottom

Removed the rear fender, installed these rear turn signals........still need a tail light.

There's been a couple of CBX's for sale near me lately.
A little pricey but very tempting.
I still remember the first time I ever saw one on the street back in '79.

Pulled the oil pan to replace the gasket.  300 miles after rebuild, found lots of "non hardening gasket" which was pretty #$%*ing hard, along with a little bit of metal.  Needless to say I am pissed.  A little confused as there is no noise, and the bike runs mint.  I am going to pull the valve cover tomorrow when I have recovered from my anger to see how well the top end has been getting oiled. 

The primary chain (new) was still just as snug and didnt appear to be hitting anything.  I removed all the tappet covers and there was oil on each valve.  The cam chain and tensioner + guide were replaced and tight.  .... pretty confused as to where this metal would be coming from.  I doubt the cam shaft has been destroyed to the point where I find metal shavings in the oil pan, but the bike still runs awesome.  Wondering if the clutch basket rivets are still contacting that shift bracket and creating metal shavings in the oil.

I had stripped the oil plug on the engine a couple days ago.
Original plug is 12 mm x 1.5
I got a new (used) 14 mm x 1.5 plug.  Took the pan off the bike.
Let a local machine shop drill and tap for the new plug. ( 10$)

I bought a new gasket (10$) but didn't need it. The original was good.
Everything back together today, no leaks.

Well it was yesterday actually. It was another beautiful sunny Spring morning, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, but the "Handbrake" was whining about the length of the grass (fair enough I suppose, I use my Kelpie as a guide to when I mow the lawn, when I can't see her any more is usually the trigger) so I dutifully mowed, weedwacked, blew etc until she was satisfied that the yard was up to her (rather high, methinks) standards.

Then I had a shower to remove the spiders and dog #$%* spray, fired up the beautiful gold K2, and rode. Man, what a ride, I stayed away from the freeways and had a ball defying the laws of the land, not to mention the laws of gravity, common sense, et al. Casey Stoner would have been proud of me, scraping my steel capped work boots around most corners, red lining it thru the gears, and chasing down young blokes on sports bikes. (and actually passing a few)

I stopped in at my local RSL (old Soldiers Club) on the way home and had a couple of ciders, while I won and then lost a small (very small) fortune on the slots, all the while avoiding the advances of the deperate housewives that infest these venues. All in all, a great start to Spring! Cheers, Terry. ;D

removed the k1 engine from the frame and carried it to the basement for overhaul.  Even with the help of my brother I couldn't believe how heavy that thing was.  My 350f engine was a lightweight in comparison.

noooooooo.  You know you love it! I've hated mine on several occasions - yelling F&%$ YOU inside my helmet lol. But then I get her running right, go for a nice long ride, pet the tank, and say "I'm sorry Baby".
Then again, maybe seeing other bikes for a little while will be good for your relationship  ;)
Don't get rid of it tho man.  Does that mean you're looking at another teardown?
