I finally got to pull the engine out! Hopefully I'll get to open it up soon.

I even talked the wife into letting me work on it in the house!

Some of us have wives that are definitely keepers. ;)  Mine let me bring the whole bike in the house last January.  She was the one that suggested it! ;D

On the CB500 I'm restoring, I installed the sprocket cover, RH side cover, clutch cable & lever, front pegs, rear brake lever. 90% done!!!

Is this the one that got the brake shield that I sent you?

The wood floors aren't real. I'm going to build a mount to hold it. My fun room just entered a new level of fun. Now it's time for me to go ride around bikes blues and bbq and yell over all the "life saving" noises. I have to keep an eye on my tach on the beemer so I know it's still running.

Aww man, wish I was down there on Dixon street!  I've got some friends performing on the main stage.

Mount the tires and rims, start to warp the header, choose the seat upholstery and some photoshop to add some color to the side

Today I

- repaired an oil leak out the bottom of my alternator cover
- attempted to repair an oil leak from my pressure sensor (we'll see tomorrow if it actually worked)
- established that I'm going to need my dremel, and a little more motivation, to get my oil pump off so I can replace the leaky O-rings
- synced my carbs

What band do you know that's playing? I may go check them out. I may go test ride some expensive bikes that I'll never be able to afford in a little bit.

Rode my 69 K0 home at 80 mph to beat a thunderstorm.  First time the old girl has been out on the open highway since the valve job.  Breathtaking.

Ordered some number plate and side cover decals.  Three of them are #1 and two say 50.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

So I didn't really do anything to the bike but I bought a facemask and glove liners to stay warm for my early morning ride to the slimey crud run.

forks are fully disassembled and cleaned (had to drill out one allen).

-- ordered fork seals and motul fork oil
-- started sanding/polishing fork lowers
-- my DID aluminum/shouldered rim came in (oem on 76 cb750A), i found it on ebay.  rim as described (will polish up easily) but spokes need more work than i anticipated.  fooey!   >:(

Replaced all the spade connectors and the molex plug on the pigtail from the alternator.
The old connectors were fatally corroded.
Small wonder the battery wouldn't charge.
Then I installed a solid-state voltage regulator. I used a VR124 (for the '76 Porsche...)
I might clean up the mounting later, I just stuck it in there Q&D.

It works great! Thanks to everyone in the "cheap regulator" thread!
Tomorrow.....I ride!  :)
